General Gaming Discussion / Re: Super Mario Bros. Crossover: 2.0 IS LIVE!!

I most definitely batted an eye when I saw that credits list.  I was totally unaware that Blaster Master: Blasting Again, a Playstation game which I personally reviewed myself, was released on the Nintendo!  Any Nintendo!  You learn something new everyday!!  Is this post dripping with enough sarcasm?  :o

Also, I like to think of Dr. Wily's variants as "Photon Torpedo" (despite the fact Photon Torpedo can't be nudged up or down) and "Skull Shield" (since Skull Barrier is a completely different weapon entirely).

Quote from: "Duora Super Gyro"
Cucumber Body (I think thats what its called)
Wood Wheels
Peach Parosul??? Sorry 4 bad spelling.

I own hard with this combination.
This.  Except I use the Swooper Glider.

It's also relevant that Daisy is my main, since she's one of the lighter characters.

Edit: Also, uh... which group is the official unofficial group for... whatever?  Is it "Unoff. Cutstuff", or "MM8BDM Cup"?  Neither group has had any action whatsoever as far as I can see, but I'm leaning toward "Unoff. Cutstuff", since it actually has the URL for Cutstuff on it. (The groups are pretty much identical otherwise: 150cc Grand Prix, All Items.)

5 screenshots of one incomplete stage, 1 unrelated enemy demo, 20 pages.

Why is this so?

This topic is still around?  Jesus.

If he's doing something that breaks the Skulltag Terms of Service (I'm positive this exists), report him to the Master Server maintainers.  Otherwise, give it a rest.  He obviously gets his jollies from trolling you and is probably laughing his ass off at this and other topics you people have posted about him.

You know something?  Playing as almost any character except Mario makes the game feel and play almost exactly like its respective game.  I got a real thrill out of driving around as SOPHIA III and blasting enemies with Homing Missiles, or using the Wave Beam on enemies with Samus.  Bill is way overpowered with his Spread Gun, but it's definitely helpful for unlocking certain Cheats.  Playing as Bass was pretty fun, too!  Playing as Mega Man?  Not as much.  Thanks to his increased jump height, he loses a bit of the nostalgia value.  It also severely hurts his and Bass' playability that they can't slide under 1-block spaces. (Not so much as I've seen, anyway.)

As for Ryu Hayabusa?  He seriously needs some work.  He a bit underpowered compared to almost everyone else, his wall-grabbing skills slightly hinder you at times, and he doesn't swing his sword fast enough when compared to the original games.

All and all, a great improvement to an already fun game!  I can't wait until Adobe releases their update to Flash that makes C++ coding work better.  It'd be nice to play the game with Super NES music without the game slowing to a crawl.  Hell, even the NES music slows it a bit, and my computer isn't exactly ancient...

So!  Fun times in the Nether today.  Plus some other stuff.

- Got killed by three Creepers today.
- Also got killed by a Ghast -- something that rarely happens. (Death message was, "DocLithius blew up.", same as Creepers.  Very disappointing.)  This bastard also cost me my really good Diamond Pick.  It was enchanted with Unbreaking I!  Oh well...  I have a new one with... ugh... Efficiency I...  *eyeroll*
- Found one of Mike's buried treasure chests.  This one was at -122, 59, 182 (near my little chunk of land to the Northwest).  And it was empty.  What the funk.  >_>  I get the feeling someone may have found it with X-Ray/Wireframe and just reburied it without saying anything.  Very frustrating.
- Found the most bizarre thing in the ocean.  A natural air bubble!  It's about 4 x 2 x 3 blocks in size and there's absolute no reason it should exist, but it does!
- I also managed to find some Sponge...  It's pretty useless overall, but it makes a nice, non-retrievable alternative to yellow wool, I guess.
- And speaking of yellow, I also went Glowstone Dust hunting.  I was successful.  :3
- Finally, I added signs to the Cutopolis Prime/CS Outpost portals indicating their Two-Way status, as well as updated the signs for the NPC Village #1/Nether Fort #1 and Castaway Village/Near N. Fort #1 portals.
- On that note, I also made a One-Way portal from my piece of land.  It leads to CS Outpost, which leads to Cutopolis Prime.
- I may or may not have also erected a new portal very, very far away from the mainland...

Pretty productive day, despite setbacks.

I highly approve of this idea.  I've been wanting to make a flying island for a while, too.  And since I now know how to link portals properly... making one that doesn't require a ladder and a column of dirt seems like a greater possibility than before!  :D

- VoxelChat: No (Useless server-wide)/Don't care (client-side)
Most people don't spend a lot of time hanging out close enough together to benefit from chat bubbles.  But hey, knock yourself out if you want to keep it on locally.

- Lighting: No
Gives an unfair advantage over other players.  Yes, seriously.  You can see everything they can't.

- Safe: Yes
If it's within viewing range, it should be fairly obvious if a monster can spawn there or not.  All this is is a sort of reassurence of that.

- Zoom: No
Handy, but gives an unfair advantage again, especially when dealing with mobs and PvP.

- Show Ore: No
You pretty much already explained why this is unacceptable, but for anyone else curious about it, it is indeed a cheat.  Granted that you still have to mine the resources, but with how easily you can find them, you may as well be playing Creative mode.

- Mobs: No
While fairly useless in practice, it still gives an unfair advantage to the player(s) using it.

- Mob HP: Maybe (Leaning toward "No")
A lot of people already know the HP of certain mobs, or at the very least, "how many hits with X weapon to kill it", so it seems rather useless.  However, if it also shows player health, then this is definitely a solid "no".

- Player View: No
A lot of people enjoy their privacy while doing whatever they do.  The idea of being watched at any given time by anyone other than Mike would not set well with most people.  It can also be used to "scout locations" of ore and diamonds, if a particular player has announced he found a cache somewhere.  Provided it also shows their X/Y/Z -- which I have a strong feeling that it would.

This won't end well.  This sort of thing never ends well.

Welp, I had a busy day on Minecraft today...  I almost ripped the world asunder by changing a couple things!  I'll explain.

Recently, I discovered that there's a way to link portals to the Nether properly.  For example, if you wanted Portal A on the overworld to think to Portal B in the Nether when it currently links to Portal A, you can do it!  Provided the portals are in the right places on both sides of the world.  That said, I remember that a while back, someone said they wished the portal from NPC Village #1 didn't go straight to the main Nether outpost.  So, I started working on a project for NPC Village #1.

First, I gathered up a lot of obsidian.  Simple enough of a task.  Next, I got the location of the NPC Village #1 Nether Portal and entered the Nether.  Once there, I disabled the Outpost portal for the time being, then I ran to the Mini-Nether Fort in the distance, since that's where the coordinates I ended up with ended up taking me.
I was greeted by not two, not three, but four Ghasts when I got there.  And they were pissed.  They were also incredibly lousy shots, but I decided to play it safe and tried to erect the portal inside the fort itself, rather than out in the middle of nowhere like the coordinates said.  As it turns out, that didn't work very well.  It did give me a few more obsidian, though, since I actually bothered to disable and destroy the portal twice, since it didn't work.  However, while I was messing with that, I was informed that the portal at Cutopolis had not actually been closed.  And that on entering and exiting the Nether, this person had ended up way away from the mainland and on someone else's private-public property!  Surprisingly, no one yelled at me or even slapped me on the wrist when I explained what was going on with "all these portals".  They were very understanding.

After that fiasco, I destroyed the portal I ended up coming out of, re-ignited the Nether Outpost portal, destroyed the Mini-Nether Fort portal, and put it where it was supposed to have gone in the first place.  And wouldn't you know?  It worked like a charm when I did.  The Cutopolis <-> Nether Outpost portals worked and the NPC Village #1 <-> Mini-Nether Fort portals worked, just as I'd intended them to all along.

What a crazy, crazy day on the Cutstuff Minecraft server...

Maps / Re: Laggy Battlefields: Rural Post.

So, I popped it in and loaded it up.  Here's my opinions on the map.

The Good
- Very unique map with a few interesting features, such as horizontal sliding doors and a couple outside areas.
- The map is gigantic!  There is absolutely no limit to all the places one could hide and explore.
- The outdoor textures are done very well.  I like the fact that, as some else said, you emulated dark areas without actually changing the sector darkness.

The Bad
- Linedefs.  I can see far, far, far too many linedefs.  Maybe it's just me, but I don't like being able to see places I can't actually get to on my map, nor every single line in a random area.  It's worth noting that some of the linedefs were hidden for the aforementioned reasons, but far too many remain visible once you've seen the actual areas.
- Due to how the Doom II: Hell on Earth engine works, it's incredibly easy to get snagged on trees and bushes in the outside areas.  Granted, this would happen in real life if you were blindly running through the woods, but still.
- The map is perhaps a bit too massive for its intended play mode...  Or really, many other play modes.  It's about the size of a medium Doom level.  The only thing missing are keycards, locked doors, and enemies.

The Ugly
- I heard something about the map being laggy, but I had no problem running the map myself, even with 8 bots going.  There was minimal lag, but nowhere near as bad as say... Cloudman's stage.

Double-post with intention!

Brotoad: Your doggie ate me for lunch.  Then again, I was the one who threw the snowball at it.  :B  I nudged it back into the corner.
Also...
I put torches in the hollow areas of the inn so monsters won't spawn "inside" the inn anymore.  There was a hollow space on the ground floor as well as in the roof.  Yes, something spawned in a 1x2x2 area.  Don't ask me how.
Also...
I bred your chickens until it wasn't fun for them anymore, then I destroyed them all except for three.  I bred two.  You should have four chickens.  Your cows have not been touched.

CarThief:
I relocated your sole chicken to Brotoad's inn's farmyard.  The chicken was much happier there, until I killed it.  You may want to go ahead and repurpose or destroy the tiny chicken coop we'd made.
Also...
I bought an Instant Damage II Splash Potion for 2 Redstone.

chuggaafan01:
Why on earth do you have a locked chest in the inn?  I thought you lived in the animal NPC village.  Just curious.

Everyone else:
Y U NO LOG IN NO MORE?!

I'd just like to randomly interject here and say... that the AI opponents in the 100cc engine class are absolute cheating bastards.  I've raced and won on every 150cc track just fine, but I never saw the sheer ridiculous amount of items being spammed in that engine class.  And it's not like I can't beat the 100cc class just fine otherwise.  There's like... six poor opponents and one opponent who can almost keep up with you in 100cc.  It's just that they use items a hell of a lot more often!  Ever been hit by four Lightnings in one race?  Play 100cc.  Chances are, it will be a common occurrence.

Madness, I say.  Madness.
