Phew...  And we're finally done.  "The Big Move" is finished in 3 hours and 5 minutes.  Now all existing stages are properly titled.

Summary of Changes
- All Deathmatch stages have been moved to "Name (DM)" or "Name Man (DM)". (Was previously ""Name (Stage)" or "Nameman (Stage).
-- Redirects from the old pages exist for the sake of convenience.
- The Stages page has been edited to reflect the new stage titles.

I will add Item redirects later on, if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Thank you for your kind words, brawlman and Zellough, and your feedback, Doom.  I'm waiting for a reply from Xuta, myself, but it's only been a few hours after all.  XD

In other wiki-related news: I'm in the process of moving the stage pages where they should go.  Just thought I'd let you know.  I'm not vandalizing the place, this is actually something I've been putting off.

Help & Editing / Re: how to use downloaded skins?
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:27:24 AM »
Sometimes, people will put PK3 or WAD skins into a ZIP file.  You may need to pull the skin file out of those files to use them, in that case.  You should just be able to open a ZIP file by double-clicking it or right-clicking and selecting "open".  Note: If there's no PK3 or WAD inside, but instead a "SKININFO" and/or "sprites" folder, that actually is the skin file and should be left alone or renamed from ZIP to PK3, as Ivory suggested.

Eeeeeh not trying to be egotistical, but I see that awesome Metool K-1000 listed there, but not my own Met skin.  Was that just an oversight, or is my skin disqualified because I mostly used existing sprites for it?  >_o

I've had some guy try to kick me cause he liked furries, didn't quite understand it.
That's...weird.  It usually works the other way around!  I should know.  I was once punted off a Minecraft server for using my lovingly-made "Joseph fox" avatar.  Furry haters gonna hate and I guess furry elitists gonna ... uh...elite.  >_>  <_<;

Oh?  Well in that case, go for it!  It's ultimately your map.  If you playtest your map with different music and just get that "Holy crap, this is awesome!" feeling right from the get-go, then make it so without hesitation!  ^_^

Well...that's just my opinion.  The music file size thing was a bit more of a "great idea!  Let's get on this right away!" sort of thing, but for this?  I say you wait and see what other people think before you make any sudden changes.  XD

I suddenly find myself enamored with you.  Are you, by chance, seeing anyone?  <3
^THIS

Uh huh. When he said that is a good question.
I said that on the first page, back when you posted your first two awesome maps.  And th infatuation is still there, mi amiga.  <3

Back on-topic, this new map is pretty spiffy!  Short and sweet, as you said, but sometimes that's all CTF maps really need to be.  My only qualm would be the choice in music.  Original still is pretty awesome, but you know what would be nostalgic and get more attention?  An 8-bit rendition of "Wood Field" from Mega Man's Soccer.  X3

Edit: Well, huh.  Looks like our own MusashiAA did that very song.  And it sounds pretty good, too.  Huzzah!  :D

Okay, I got the information I'd been looking for for some time.  According to the user list (why I didn't think of this sooner, I don't know), "XutaWoo" is the wiki SysOp.  However, XutaWoo hasn't made a single contribution since founding the Wiki.  A quick search on Googlereveals that XutaWoo is your average Doom fan who enjoys the originals as well as the modifications there-in.  I've left him a message on YouTube in hopes of getting some kind of reply to get him to either hand control of the wiki over to someone else, or at least come back and contribute.

Here's what I wrote, in case anyone's curious:

Of course there is.  Unfortunately, normal users can't do it.  The founder of the Wiki -- the "super admin"? -- has to do it.  And since our mysterious contributor has all but disappeared, we're essentially stuck in limbo on several things in regard to the wiki...  The layout colors, the logo, moderators, limits, being unable to ban vandals...  Some other stuff like that.  It's quite frustrating, to say the least.
I'd say we should relocate to another place for this exact reason, but that's probably just me being petty.  There are other places the wiki could be hosted, though...  And by someone who'd actually keep an eye on the place, rather than (apparently) "domain squat".

Of course, maybe they made the thing and disappeared unintentionally.  Who knows.

Same link, same result.  :(  Clearly, MediaFire doesn't like HughesNet.  But why is it just that single file?  Granted, it's happened with other files and not that often, but still...
