I just found a copy of the movie with vocal track.  The ending really does explain everything.  o_o

Edit: The vocal track is probably a fan-made parody, in looking at it a second time.  But still...  XD

7zip is not only free, but it's pretty much the best file compression/decompression software out there.  Not to mention the 7z compressed directory format also has one of the best compression rates you can get for a compressed directory.  :3

This ending explains everything.  Yep.  Second Edit: It really does explain everything.  o_o (Vocal track added.)

Edit: Oh, hey look.  The video works now.

The first think you should learn about Team Fortress 2 is that the game, no matter what anyone else says, is not, ever, under any circumstances, purely a deathmatch game.  Yes, killing other people is a big part of the game, but the point of the game is always to work as a team to do whatever needs to be done, be it capturing the intelligence (Capture the Flag), holding a landmark (King of the Hill), overtaking an enemy base or landmark (Control Point), escorting a cart to the objective spot (Payload), or even just killing everyone on the other side (Arena).
Bearing that in mind, there's two smaller thoughts to keep in mind: It's your responsibility to help out your team in any way that you can, but it's your team's responsibility to help you out as well.  What I'm getting at with this is simply that even if you're the worst player on your team -- the "weakest link", as it were -- if the rest of the team can cover for you, you'll be okay.  Similarly, if you can pick up the slack of a worse player, awesome.  Just remember, the adage of "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link" doesn't really apply here unless you're playing seriously.  In which case, get better team mates.  :P

How does one have fun?  Depends on what you like to do, really.  You can have fun doing just about anything in this game.  Want to buff your team directly?  There's classes for that.  Want to help from behind enemy lines?  There's classes for that, too.  Powerhouse classes, tank classes, support classes, defense classes...  You don't even have to stay as one particular class if you don't want to!  Plenty of people swap classes mid-game, depending on what they want to do.

As for the items, specifically the weapons?  A lot of people will tell you certain weapons are far more overpowered than others and that it's absolutely useless to try and play using just the vanilla weapons.  I personally think these people are full of crap as even the "best items in the game" are worthless in the hands of stupid players, but I still suggest finding a nice Vanilla server if you're not comfortable getting hit with laser beams, crossbow arrows, fireballs, poison darts, or being rammed into and decapitated by suicidal cyclopes.  You can unlock three new weapons for each class by doing a number of achievements for each class, so there's guaranteed items just from that, not to mention playing online gives you an item or item crate to play with about once an hour or so. (There's a per-week limit, but I'm not sure what it is.)  And of course, you can always buy new weapons if you get absolutely desperate for a change.

All and all, it's a fun experience if you're willing to learn the game and its wacky physics and such.  Not to mention pretty funny, since it has a cartoony theme to it.

Why does this darn thing have to be a .rar file!? It looks so cool.

*fistshake*
You have no excuse.  Unless, you know, you're running Linux or MacOS.  In which case, I don't think the game would run on your machine anyway, so... moot point.

I understand the engine isn't perfect, and there are still bugs, but why hate on it?
That's pretty much why I hate it.  Oh sure, it has co-op.  But so does that 4-player game.  But the 4-player game also has more weapons and less bugs.  Of course, the engine for that one is far from perfect, too.  But basically, yeah.  That's my main complaint.  The engine plays only remotely like the base games.  It worked for Rokko Chan since the game was designed around the extra jump height and dash mechanics.  I wasn't terribly thrilled with how Roll worked in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion or Mega Man worked in Super Mario Crossover v2.0, but the base games are Super Mario Bros., so it's kind of a given... (In the latter, I think Bass plays near-perfectly, though I'm sure his actual physics are ever-so-slightly off.)  The engine for those two Robot Master-oriented games by Team Fusion didn't look too good to me, but again, the game wasn't a strict Rockman game like this is supposed to be.

Ultimately, it's just a personal taste.  If you're going to make a Rockman game, make the engine as spot-on as physically possible.  SuperDanny and Mega Man's Christmas Carol have the best Rockman engines I've seen, despite the fact SuperDanny give you an extra 4 pixels in jump height.  Everything else works as it should.  This game, on the other hand?  High jumping, weird physics, one weapon per character, enemies that don't work like they're supposed to, ugly graphics (no, I don't mean the 8-bit motif.  I mean things like the squished selection boxes), generic and overused mixes of old songs, sliding doesn't work like it's supposed to...  I could probably go on, but I'd have to play it again to remember what else was unbearably wonky.

Anyway, if you guys are having fun, more power to you.  I just prefer my Rockman games to play a bit more like Rockman than this particular entry does.

Heh.  Funny you mention that.  As some of you might know, I have satellite internet.  As such, my overall online gaming experience is generally less than ideal.  However, Mario Kart 7 seems to work just fine for me!  So long as I give myself about 1 or 2 second leeway with things like Red Shells and such, I can play a damn mean game.  However, if it's a really close race -- such as if someone is riding on my ass up to the very end -- I generally end up being bumped down a place or two, depending on the traffic congestion on the track.

And yes, I sometimes see people warp around.  Chances are, I warp around at times, too.  And unfortunately for other people, it's not my problem.  So!  If you happen to race against Nikki from Swapnote with no location posted and she up and vanishes on you, appearing ahead of you, you're probably racing against me.  ;3

The name of this thread really confused me.  I thought this was about a turn-based strategy RPG game, not that crappy co-op fan game everybody seems to like for some bizarre reason.  Are all y'all really that hard up for a new Rockman-alike?

I killed myself 10 or more times, saw a squid fly through thin air, saw 6 skeletons all burst into flames at once, Blaze built a tree that's currently at Y:203 in height, and PGN turned neutral evil.

Good day all around.

Just tried logging in.  Received this very cut-and-dry message:

Little Roll-chan grew up!

And lulz were had by almost all.  X3

I'm mildly curious what the hell happened to Zeke's tower in the current map.  It's full of holes!  And monsters!  In roughly equal portions!  I've updated the sign out front accordingly.

Welp, I hope you like gyro controls.  Because if you want to keep your Gold Steering Wheel icon, you'll need to keep on using them.  Apparently.  At the very least, 80 gyro control races to every 20 without. (Which is basically saying "don't do 20 matches without gyro controls in a row, I guess.)

Is it worth it?  Is it truly worth it, eh?  No, seriously, I'm curious since I've never once touched the first-person gyro controls.  XD

And just to piss people off, let's put waterfalls flowing off the edges of the island.  :D

Oh, the island is going to be over the ocean anyway?  Nevermind then...

So!  We have plenty of people interested... we have an official group...  Why don't we have an official meeting time and date?  Like, once a month?  Twice a month?  Weekly?  Same time every time?  That'd be fantastic since I can't monitor Mario Kart 7 every hour of every day.  :B
