The Ghoul's Forest / Re: So... GVHv2b10 ever getting out?

You could try making it a non-solid .pk(7)3 to improve compression a bit, and I would wonder how you could prevent DeflOpt from removing the GrAb chunks.  :|

I'd guess the reason that solid archives require more memory to host, is because solid archives work like this phrase.
"Everything or nothing".

The maps, however; would probably benefit from being solid. (As the archive is huge.)

And if you don't want to..
Take a look at this avatar I've got here.. THE SMUGDOG (OF PURE DAMNATION AND EVIL)

To be precise, just do what the text in it says.

Ah, i remember that very odd modification someone made for GVH, based on weaknesses like pokemon, meh, it wasnt too entertaining.
Mostly because it wasn't meant to be entertaining, as it was just a minor edit. (Except for Jitterskull & Choke being able to survive a bit longer, because they got healed when they killed/damaged humans.)

I might take a shot at making an alternate lightning bow, but that probably won't be coming soon.
Because I have to make the stuff on my main computer, then getting it over to another to upload/discuss stuff. Not to mention

Most likely, you happened to pick up an infected file from a normal site. Most likely because the one that uploaded it had no idea it was infected. (Read: Most likely)

So yeah, that's one hell of a story. At least it was a virus, because I once had a faulty RAM stick - while I thought it was a virus! Lucky me when I tested my way to the truth, as having 4 ram sticks means RAM being randomly accessed. And that explained the psy-random crashing patterns.
--------

I didn't know MBAM has Norton in its' virus database.. Too bad.
Also, have you tried MSE yet? It's pretty good, that is - it doesn't suffocate you in a body-size condom-for-browsing-the-badbad-internet. [/obviouspun]

Reviews say that it has pretty cool real-time virus detection, and I can confirm that. One time I selected something on another computer.. And BAM, it said it was infected. Lucky me that I selected a group of files. Oh, did I mention that it has good detection rates, while being light on the system? (Runs like a dream with other stuff on a rather slow laptop)

Cheers, hope you won't get infected another time! :P

I'm still standing by the idea of severely reducing Sjas' damage, but speeding him up by quite a bit.
Since then, he would be some kind of 'support' class, instead of some insta-killing shitthatcanbeapaintohit.

And making ghost-traps and proton rays do extra damage on him would be a nice thing too..

BECAUSE HE'S A GHOST!
..Who ya gonna' call again?

Kingdom of Loathing!

I don't know about how it is now, but it used to be funky back in '07-08

PressStart has a nice logo right there.

But if simplicity is the case, here's a few. (Totally ripped from your craplogo!)

For the one that doesn't care for every bit of bandwidth, in exchange for a bit of quality - 14 kilobytes.
Otherwise, here's another one.

For the bandwidth caring one, 4 kilobytes.

(Best viewed in every theme BUT Royal Black.. Except for the less smooth one.. Heh..)

Gotta love Inkscape. :x

Bots COULD, perhaps be hacked into being smarter than they are.

By morphing them into a special bot class, with a special bot weapon that does lots of checks.

..Although that would require an ocean of ACS and DECORATE coding.

I don't know what to think of this super ice spread. It is pretty cool, but I managed to kill a jitterskull in 3 shots at one side of project strikebeam to the other, and ice is supposed to be close ranged  ;)

Considering each shard can do up to 9 damage, and there are about 48 shards.

That can hump you for a maximum damage of 432 - But that's impossible, because of random shattering times/spread..

..Although those <432 points of damage can easily give a group of ghouls a real beating.

Solution: Nerf | Nerf type: REDUCE DAMAGE: random(1,3)*random(1,3) to about random(1,2)*random(0.5,1.5)

I might take a try at coding some splitting ice arrows.. As I can't play (at all) right now.

And since 32+ shards is a bit more useful in the distance than 6 arrows..

Stay tuned?

Edit: Heh.. Is this intentional?

Code: [Select]
ACTOR IceArrow
{
   Radius 3
   Height 2
   Speed 38
   decal icehit
   Scale .5
   Damage 6
   +DONTBLAST
   PROJECTILE
   damagetype "ice2"
   renderstyle add //Renderstyle 1
   alpha 0.8
   +NOGRAVITY
   +NOEXTREMEDEATH
   renderstyle translucent //Renderstyle 2 ... WUT
   alpha 1.0

EditEdit: Okay, Here's the file. The shards are unreliable at best, which is why I made them pretty badass. (High damage per projectile compared to projectile count)
