I'm not sure I understand the point, but if you want a Ballade version of me in here somewhere I don't mind.

No. Inafune said in an interview that Zero does not kill anyone. It's not in his character.

It's not in his charecter NOW, no.  When he was a giggling maverick sadist though I don't think it's at all outside the realm of possibility no matter what Inafune says.

Dr. Cossack needs to get involved again.  Maybe he gets into a quickly escalating battle with some new rival scientist that threatens the world and Megaman has to step in and stop both of them, then deal with Wily who was of course working behind the scenes to fan the flames of their conflict, perhaps framing both in the inciting incidents.

I have an idea for King's stage though.
How about we get three mappers to do a single section of the map each, and we link those three sections together via teleporters?

If I might make a suggestion, the red section (tank) should be generally open and flat with trenches, the green section (jet) should feature some precarious jumping over death pits and the blue section (king) should contain more vertical movement and some twisty hallways.

Perhaps something is off in the settings of whatever program you were using first?

The orange texture above the rocks on the left doesn't look so hot.  That texture's meant to be used with the others next to it on the sheet as a patch either 2 or 3 blocks high and of some arbitrary length, like a fence.

At times in that run I thought you were interpreting 'no miss' to include every time the enemies shot as well.  You were practically throwing yourself into damage at some points.  Rather amusing.

I just colored it based on the artwork.

Fair enough, let's just blame it on the capcom staffers then.   :p

But seriously, great job on the rotations!

Really good work on the tkhamen, Kapus, though you got kind of crazy with the colors (as you seem to have realized).  I did a quick once-over on it to make it blend into the stage better.  We can at least pretend this version might have been doable on the NES with 2 background tile palettes (gold and grey/red) and 2 layers of sprites (blue and mm's face colors)

The problem really has to boil down to money, and Mega Man just isn't percieved as a breadwinner anymore.  This is of course entirely their fault as it's hardly surprising sales numbers will drop when you pump out sequels of falling quality and at the same time oversaturate the market.

Mega Man also has the problem in that it really wants to be graphically simple but all the current consoles demand more polish than it honestly needs.  It's a problem that's actually holding back quite a few potentially great games, and it's the main reason why I've found FAR more entertainment in the last several years on my DS rather than consoles.

Personally I hope they go back to online distribution systems (maybe even skipping the consoles altogether and embracing Steam?) and forget producing console titles except perhaps compilations on handhelds.

You're completely welcome.  I'm loving this stuff.

Also, I went ahead and recolored the King tiles to make the three palettes more clearly distinguishable.  If you really want to keep the technicolor look just mix and match between the three.

King is up... technicolor nightmares ahoy!

I'm actually somewhat tempted to recolor some of that, regardless of what the original stage looked like.  Thoughts?

I'm happy to help if you have questions about the textures, guys.  Just shoot me a PM so I don't miss it in the middle of a thread somewhere.

I decided that the Tengu Man fans were probably going to be a real pain in somebody's ass, so I went ahead and set them up for easy use (including the back of the fans, because it was easy and who knows?).  Don't trim these down, the empty space is necessary to space it out right.
