This virus is much stronger than we expected...not only does Roboenza infect robots, it also effects humans and animals! Nothing is safe from Roboenza...
My experience with fighting infected robots has enabled me to survive at least 50% of the outbreaks. Now I pass my own knowledge to anyone that comes across this entry.
1. Despite the fact hiding is discouraged, I have found that hiding some of the time may actually increase your chances of survival. There is no true safe spot, though, as I have seen some rather clever hiding spots get sniffed out by the infected robots. However, if you stop from time to time when you're not being chased, you can often look at your surroundings and see if a better course of action can be taken. I often stop at corners of two hallways and just take a breath or two while I look around. Once you spot an infected robot, the other path is safe most of the time. Some robots are smarter than others, though...
2. Try not to fight infected robots unless you have a fast weapon. Focusing on one robot might distract you from others nearby, and do not get so focused that your target gets close enough to infect you. It's better to flee and fight another time than to fall prey.
3. If you're the only one left, DO NOT fight. There may simply be too many robots to try to take out. A good way to know just how big of a force you are dealing with is to see how many opponents are left. If the dreaded infection song plays, everyone else still alive is infected. If it is more than 2 opponents, you will get infected if you try to fight.
4. If you can, avoid drawing attention to infected robots, especially if you're hiding. Also make sure that ANY hiding place you use has at least one other escape route. The last thing you want is to get swarmed with no escape. I pity the fools that try to stand against the onslaught of infected robots at Crash Man and Gemini Man.
5. There are some situations where your best course of action is to eliminate the infected robots quickly. Cut Man, Flash Man, and Hard Man come to mind. Best combined with hint 2. If too many people get infected, not even Charge Kick will save you, as it is nearly impossible to outsmart a smart infected robot.
6. The most effective weapon you have against infected robots is the teleporter. Stay a good distance away from the infected robot, but follow it and hop in the teleporter after it to instantly kill it. As long as the robot is not aware you are there, it should not be a trap. Use caution, though. If you think you might be attacked, have Skull Barrier ready. It is your best defense against infected robots, and it may help you escape their traps.
I hope these tips will help players to better deal with infected robots. If one wants all of the above points shortened to one idea, it is this: If you have an option to either fight or flee, flee. Of course, dodging robots would be very easy if I could regain my ability to fly...
Upon finishing that last sentence, I hear robots shouting of joy. I wonder if that means this area I am in is free of infected robots? I leave this note behind and go check things out...
