Outstanding lead? It was one event and the Dr. Wily Team has a 3 point lead on Dr. Light, a 6 point lead on Mr. X and a 9 point lead on Dr. Cossack. I would hardly even call the Dr. Cossack team out of it. We still have more events, and the winner of this one will take the lead.
Two weeks isn't enough time for four people to plan five minutes to spend playing a game? If it isn't, then I'm sorry, but I feel that two weeks is plenty of time. Plus the three additional days. That totals to 10 more days than I initially planned because I thought we would be able to chug along through this, no problem. I don't want one part of something much bigger taking a whole month. The Megalympics would take a year to finish at the very least at that rate.
Understand that players who signed up for this committed to play, meaning they said they would meet the deadlines. I'll look into who did and didn't plan to meet for this, but I'm not gonna hold up everything for the sake of the tardy. When I set a deadline, unless I say otherwise, I expect players to meet that deadline. If something has come up and you no longer can play or meet those deadlines, you are free to drop out at any time, but lack of good reason will let me give your name to other tournament organizers and recommend that they take caution before admitting you into a tournament.
The point of trying to compete in future heats would be to prevent what has happened over the last two weeks with the first event. I did recommend that if players could only get 2 or 3 together, play with 2 or 3. If you could get more people together another time, then you could have played with them and sent me new results.
That aside, I hope that moving into a team event will get everyone in who wants into an event. I can think of at least 3 people from each team who are active, and 3 is all each team needs.
And for the record, Ice, the Megalympic Games are not a tournament, per se, but a series of games. If members wish to use Skype to better communicate their intent to make a match, more power to them. The PM System here, however, has allowed for players to plan for a certain time to meet instead of just saying "I'm on now" so that they can know days ahead of time when to meet and get going. I know this myself as a previous tournament participant. I really don't want to have to throw in so many stipulations to joining something that should be fun for all who want to compete. The only requirements I have are that players be active enough to play each other for a few minutes to settle who wins and do so within a two-week time frame. Players had to sign up through Cutstuff, so why would they not be active on the forums?
Enough. Again, none of you have to play in this. If you have so many problems with it, leave. There will be no more of these types of discussions in the topic, and those who attempt to start such talk up again will be shown the door.
