Keep in mind, Dark is actually called "Evil" in japan. Dark isn't characterized by actual darkness, it's characterized by being underhanded. So a Light type would have to be the opposite of that... and it already exists, the opposite of Dark is the honorable Fighting types.

Ah right, well, that takes care of that then, I suppose.
If there is a Light type, I suppose it might have to be literal light then? I dunno, it's looking somewhat unlikely to be in at this point, honestly.

Gotta love the Dark types that aren't actually all that evil though, like Absol, Zoroark and Darkrai (kinda).

I honestly have no real idea how Light could work (maybe aside from being an opposite to Dark? I 'unno) but Sound could definitely work!

There are a bunch of mons and moves that could be changed into the Sound type without too much problem (like Kricketune and Hyper Voice, for instance). Quite like the conversion from Gen 1 to Gen 2, where they changed a bunch of moves and mons to Dark and Steel and stuff.
Plus, there's that whole 'Special to Physical and vice versa' thing they had going on for Gen 4.

Besides, we already kinda have an unofficial Sound type already. it's just not very glorified, unless you have a pokeymon with the Soundproof ability, and stuff like that.
So yeah, unless Gamefreak decide to be boring feckers again, it could happen!
I'll be honest though, still wondering what it could be strong and weak to, and whatnot...

...Still hoping for that FABULOUS type though~

Also, so that this post isn't too off-topic, there are a lot of zones cut out from Sonic 2. Like Hidden Palace and Dust Hill.

On top of that, Act 3 of Metropolis Zone was apparently supposed to be its own standalone stage that was called Genocide City Zone, which would have been a super cheery stage, clearly.
Due to time constraints though, they just said "Feck it!" and made it a third Act instead. It explains why the stage has some odd things that weren't in the other acts, like the lava and whatnot.

Also, there was Wood Zone or whatever, but I think one of Dr. Wily's robots threatened to sue, so y'know.

While I'm at it, apparently Sonic 2 was also meant to have some kind of time travelling feature, like in Sonic CD. That idea kicked the bucket soon enough though.

And yeah, methinks they should probably reboot the entire robot master line's serial numbers, just to get everything back in order.
Like Oilman and Timeman for instance. I know they're from a remake, but still, did Dr. Light throw them away after the game, or something? The world may never know...

Name: Duke Nukem
Speed and Armor: Same as a survivor.
Health: Don't know. This is up for debate.
Main: Devastator - Fires a volley of very innacurate mini-rockets that does 25 damage for each mini-rocket. Can be used twice before you must wait for the bar to recharge enough.
Altfire: Mighty Foot - same rate of fire as the game. Deals 35 damage.
Item: Jetpack/Vitamin X/Portable Medikit - Duke gets one of these at random after a minute has passed. If he already has an item, he won't get another unless he uses it and waits for another 1 minute lapse. The item effects are:

- Jetpack: derp flight herp
- Vitamin X: Like a Turbosphere, but the effect is a lot shorter.
- Portable Medikit: Recover a set amount of health. Must stand still for a moment when in use. Getting hit will interrupt the healing, making it useless.

Rage: Plasma Cannon - If you haven't played the N64 version, it's a weapon that shoots projectiles that create a visible splash damage area upon hitting anything. It can also be charged for a gigantic blast. However, it has 30 ammo. To make a full charged shot, it needs to have just that. So deciding whether to use a charge shot or pepper opposition with small splash damage projectiles is of importance. Once the ammo is up or after a time limit (maybe both?), the Plasma Cannon disappears.

I don't know if having no hitstun would be too much, but Duke never flinches. So...

Oh well, to be honest, I think I like your idea better than mine anyway.
The potential for hilarity with ol' Duke is amazing! Especially with all his infamous quotes.

In no particular order...

1. Enchilaladia "tails" The HogHegeHeghog - Damn straight he's very sxy! 'Tis probably the best art I've seen in my entire life.

2. Chris the HuMan Hedgehoog - Absolutely fecking beautiful. In every single way.

3. Hard the Purple Hedgehog - Everything that's wrong with 'original' Sonic characters in a nutshell, right down to being a shameless recolour.

4. Knuckles the Enchilada - Nothing says amazing like a taco monster that punches through rock hard tacos.

5. Bekcy the Whale - Naturally. Besides, he looks so un-whale like that it's hilarious. Plus, with a deep and touching backstory like that, how could I refuse?

To be honest though, if I could, I'd vote for every fecking character in the thread. Every single one of 'em made me laugh myself silly.

Seriously though, you lucky sod! The only shiny I've ever gotten was from randomly headbutting a tree one day because I felt like it.
It was a pokémon I was wanting (Ariados), and I was lucky not to kill it after a crit, admittedly, but still!
