Oh man, I have ship tons of fond memories from playing games (especially from the MegaDrive/Snes and N64 eras), but the ones I remember most of all are the ones from all four of the games I got with my first Gamecube.
That is, Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and, of course, Super Sexy Smash Brothers Melee.

It was a beautiful time. I got the cube and those games as a moving house present, and all was well.
A few days later, we got burgled to buggery which was a bit of a shame, but still, I had my cube, so I didn't give too many shits!

Hell, after it happened, I got a bunch more games, including the fun Super Monkey Ball, to replace any older games that were no longer in the market. So it could've been worse.
In fact, I got a shiny white Gameboy Advance and a bunch of games for it out of the deal too~
God it's sad that a contributor to one of the happiest times of my life was from getting burgled.

I don't know why they don't just gve us the option of either having 50Hz or 60Hz. Kinda like how Mega Man 9 had that whole flicker/slowdown toggle, and whatnot.
Oh yeah, that'd cost the industry an extra hour or so of super valuable development time. My bad!

Fak it. Sticking to emulators.

It's like fighting a final boss from the Kirby series all over again!

Oh yeah, also, I've finally figured out where this Weegeezooka avatar's from!
It's apparantly from something called 'Super Mario Brothers on ice', or something along those lines. Yes, I'm amazed it exists too.
And from the snippits I've watched so far, it's... something.

Yoshi's epic yarn?
Gee, sure sounds a lot like Kirby's epic yarn.

Aww c'mon, man. It's nothing like Kirby's Impressive Yarn!
Here, look!

That's not the official name, bear in mind. I don't think it's got one yet.
Wouldn't be surprised if they did call it that though, honestly...

I love how everyone's forgotten the existence of the other game they revealed today, Yoshi's Epic Yarn.
I honestly can't wait to see what they do with it, as long as it's not just a fancier looking Yoshi's Story.
Some co-op play would be nice too~

Well, wynaut?

In Game Name: VGS2
Favourite game mode: Whatever, man. As long as I have some variety, it's all good.
Favourite weapons: Ring Boomerang, Oil Slider, and anything that explodes. Also, Time Stopper. Oah ho ho!
Least favourite weapons: Slash Claw and Dive Missile, though I still use 'em both quite often.
Favourite item: Eddie!
Favourite skin (stock): Centaur Man
Favourite skin (custom): Used to like the Buneary one that Gummywormz made, but I'm not using it right now.
Favourite classes: Flash Man and Oil Man.
Favorite stage: Slash Man's, if only for that kickin' music
Least favourite stage: Diveman's, funnily enough.
Favourite custom stage: The one with the toxic grape juice that you can swim around in. 'Tis a fun concept!
Greatest rival: Fecking Dive Man!
Reputation: Local whale spotter.
Anything else?: I'm back, and stuff.

Hey, Paisanos!
Not sure if you remember me or not, but yeah, I'm finally back from purgatory!
Had to bugger off for a year(?), because my game basically went belly up for whatever reason, but burning my skins folder alive seems to have made it work again, so yeah, hopefully, I'm back for good now~!
Feels good too. I've missed you guys like you wouldn't believe, seriously.

Oh yeah, and also, welcome to the community, everyone above me!

Help & Editing / Re: Bizarre skin limit, which has buggered up the game

It must be your computer or windows, because I bear all the skins with usable links on user created skins article, wich is higher than 1000 and many skins from here, so I don't think it has to do with skulltag at all...
Bloody hell, over a thousand skins?
I must say, I'm pretty impressed.

Quote from: "Laggy Blazko"
Maybe you moved something which wasn't a skin (maybe a map pack) to "skins" by mistake.
Yeah, after cleaning out a bunch of junk, it looks like it's working again! Being as derpy as I am, I guess I must have saved some random rubbish to there.
That being said, knowing me, it'll probably screw up again eventually, but until then I'm good, thanks!

Quote from: "Trollman"
That isn't a problem, as I have music packs on the skins folder. And I once inserted CSCM on the skins folder and the game ran perfectly.
Yeah, I thought about that myself honestly. Seems odd that it chose to just randomly stop working now as opposed to earlier if that was the case.
Still, until it inevitably breaks again, I guess I'll just go with it for now.

Ah well, thanks a lot for the help you guys!  :p

Thanks, but nah, didn't work unfortunately. Though that being said, I've discovered something...

After removing a bunch of skins from the skins folder, it finally worked, though after messing around with them some more, it didn't seem to be a specific skin that caused the problem.
Whenever I add a new skin to the folder, or replace too many of the removed ones again, it'll screw up and go back to looking like a glitchy Doom. So it looks like there's some sort of skin limit that I didn't know about, or something.
Happens to the new version of MM8BDM too, so it's not just a problem with this version. And on top of that, it also seems to be messing up my player data too, whenever I'm one skin away from going over said limit.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or is it just something that my computer's doing to troll me?

inb4 "stop adding skins, olo"

Thanks you two, but neither idea worked, so it seems to be completely wrecked for me.
Dunno why, but this always seems to happen whenever me and technology related stuff's involved. Huh, maybe I'm cursed?

Ah well, that being said, I think I know one way to fix it, but that'll take me a while to sort out, seeing as I'll have to be sorting out files and getting rid of stuff and blah blah blah.
Thanks again for the good ideas though, 'tis appreciated!  :p

Help & Editing / Bizarre skin limit, which has buggered up the game
« on: August 13, 2011, 11:51:34 PM »
After being busy doing stuff for about two weeks, I've just recently tried playing MM8BDM again, but then this appeared when I tried to connect to a server:
(click to show/hide)
After looking around, it turns out that I put the highlighted wad inside the skins folder, which seemed like the cause. Weird because I've run MM8BDM before without the problem and with this wad in there somewhere, but whatever, I moved it.
After doing that it ran, but then everything went all MissingNo on me, and the menu looked like a really buggered up version of Doom's menu.
And it's not only happening on servers either, it did this when trying to open up the program normally as well.

After looking around again, I discovered this shiz:
(click to show/hide)
Not sure if it's the cause, but still, it seems pretty suspicious.

It worked two weeks ago, and I don't remember doing or downloading anything recently that could have messed up the thing, save for a bunch of skins and wads that servers were using (found with wadseeker), and on top of that, my older versions of MM8BDM seem to be working just fine right now.
So yeah, does anyone know what happened?  :?

I can be a common enemy that you can find in a whale zone or whatever, if ya want.
My abilities could include dying easily and yelling obscenities at Diveman.

Y'know, we're bollocksed if Capcom decide to make a Jumpman or a Climbman one day.
No, not that Jumpman.
