Anything Goes / Re: Where do you buy your nightmare fuel from?
« on: September 07, 2013, 05:29:29 PM »
Hoooly  shit, I almost forgot  this thread even existed! How do you people find this stuff?

Well...  guess I'll add something! Yeah, I find all sorts of shiz nightmarey, like bizarre backgrounds (like Out of this Dimension's in Starfox/Starwing, which moved  about like some kind of failed acid trip, and when stopped, just  had... all sorts of creepy, unnatural things; like the planets staring  at you in the background), and also, very... odd looking glitches that look like something that came from Glitch City in pokémon.

But yeah, despite  that, I  love being creeped out by stuff in games, like the SMG2 frozen Hell Valley people, or Sinistar, or those rather popular RPG maker horror games ( like Ib, or The Witch's House and Story of the Blanks (which technically counts) and whatnot), or just... Waxworks.  I dunno why, it just gives me a thrill. 'Tis hard to explain.

Never gonna get over  that Starfox Background though... Especially  the  thought of getting stuck in a place like that forever, like ol' Foxy here.

Oh yeah, that being said, insects can feck off. Especially stingy ones (I'm with you guys there), or ones that have lots of legs. I don't like that kind of scary stuff irl, ohhh no.

Also, this smiley:
Why, Mike, why?

I'd add more to the  conversation, but the laptop  I'm using for the rest of the week's a little bad. As you can see with all the double spaces.

General Gaming Discussion / Re: Nintendo's Nifty Console
« on: August 30, 2013, 05:49:07 AM »
My girlfriend had the biggest laugh when I found out about this thing a few days ago and nearly flipped a table, so it gets points for that at least!

Seriously though, I wish I had something constructive and/or witty to add to the debate, but most of you have already expressed my concerns and points  about the shark jumping and the clever marketing, and et cetera, so I don't have much to say.

There is something that has been bothering me though. Oh what fun it'll be for all of the old timers, buying their children stuff for christmas and hanukkah and for shits and giggles and what not. The shopping list will say "3D Nintendo toy", but then they'll see the 2DS, get confused, notice the Ł30 cheaper price point and before ya know it... Sorry, Little Jimmy (aged 8+), but your hingey, 3D-filled christmas has been cancelled. Good luck with Mario 3D land!

Vice versa too. Parents might be asked for the 2Ds, but they'll see the 3DS, think it's a sequel of some kind, forget about the fact that they should read the instructions on that shit, and then sorry, Teeny Tommy (aged >7), but now your eyes are buggered forever.

And then all the parents will get angry that something maimed their kids/forced them to look at the instructions for once in their lives/somebody drew a 3D penis in their child's Animal Crossing game before eating their turnips or whatever, then we'll get some kind of second Jack Thompson and... well, ya get the idea.

With all that said, I might just be paranoid about this all, but I can't help but sense that there's gonna be a lot of confusion for the unknowing public...

The console's still better than the Wii Mini from Canada, but hey, just sayin'.

tl;dr: Parental derp's inevitable.
Also, here's some amusing related shiz to lighten the conversation while I sleep.

Also, one last thing that just came to mind: How's the circle pad pro thing for left handed people gonna fit on the bloody monstrosity anyway?

Oh god, did my name suggestion actually get chosen?
Bloody hell, I was half joking too. Well, cool! Thanks guys! :D

Anyways yeah, you've done a bang up job with the whole place! Would be nice if you could spawn closer to the items or something, but aside from that, I'm loving it!

General Gaming Discussion / Re: Sonic CD: US vs JP
« on: July 17, 2013, 11:16:45 PM »
Many a year ago, while I was still a total noob (I still am, but bear with me), I used to actually listen to the Japanese Sonic CD songs all the damn time in The Sonic Stadium, like some sort of musical cocaine. However, years later, quite like Gumballtoid, I played it for the first time in Sonic Gems Collection.
Naturally, I was kinda disappointed, seeing as I expected the British game to have the Japanese soundtrack like in the old days, but of course, we got good ol' nightmare fuel the musical instead.

Still, I'm kinda glad they gave us that instead of letting us feck around with the two of 'em, or keeping it JP only instead, to be honest. Otherwise, I'd have never gotten acquainted with the soundtrack at all.
Case in point, with the HD game, I keep the JP switch on, so yeah.
And so while I greatly prefer the Japanese one, I would miss the American one if it were to be wiped off the face of the planet because of... an alien invasion or something, I dunno.
'Tis nostalgic to me, and still rather pleasant to listen to.

In fact, I'm honestly surprised nobody's made Past remixes of the USA songs yet. Or am I just looking in the wrong places?

tl:dr Japan's version is the sexiest. Obey it.

On another note, I do have to wonder what the infamous Desert Dazzle's songs would've sounded like if it was put into the 2011 game. Alas, we may never know...

Am I the only one okay with the Villager being a playable character?
Naww, not at all! I always thought he'd be a character in Brawl, after that dodgy fake interview that got "leaked", so I'm glad to see him now! Better late than never.
Besides, he seems pretty amusing. Not to mention he has an... interesting fighting style!

I'll be honest though. When the trailer started, I thought it was gonna be yet another advertisement for New Leaf. Ohhh that Nintendo...

He has a damn sexy helmet, I ain't gonna lie.
Might be a little bit better with a few more shades of cyan on his body for the weapon colours, but aside from that, ya done good!

My girlfriend's wanting to do that compo thingy, if only for that sweetass berry, but she's a bit sour towards them because of legendary spam.
Can't say I blame her. 'Tis one of the main reasons why I shy away from that sort of stuff. Last thing I want is to get constantly buttfucked for a berry that I'll probably get for free online anyway.

In other news, I'm wanting to kick Red's ass on HG for a Squirtle. Unfortunately, I moved all my more powerful mons over to the Black/White games earlier in the year, so I've had to make a new makeshift team of misfits.
So yeah, anyone got any training tips for the Sinnoh days? Or should I just cheat and find a Fabulous type somewhere?

Right after Capcom betrayed Nintendo and put it all on the Playstation >:(
Well to be fair, they are a third party company. The only reason they probably didn't do it earlier was because of Nintendo's "has to stay on our console for two years or so before you're allowed to port it" rule at the time.
Heck, they betrayed Nintendo even earlier than the Playstation days with the whole Wily Wars thing for the Megadrive/Genesis.
I dunno, that being said, I'm probably entirely wrong, who knows?

Anyways, staying on topic, I dropped out for a while after MM8BDM just glitched to buggery for me very early last year.
But then I realised that I missed all you guys too much, so I got a new copy of the game, burned my skins folder, and came back late last year~

Yeah, you're all right really. Can't begin to count all the times I've been put off joining something because I just feel too new. Like the Smash bros forum and Team Fortress 2, for starters.

I still like the idea of calling ourselves Cuts though. Gives off the feeling of being in some kind of big family!
'Tis probably a horrible idea for several reasons, including the fact that we're a letter away from ridicule, but hey!

Aww fak, late for the birthday messages again! Tsk.
Oh well, many happy returns, our glorious second leader in command!  :p

As for our thousandth member, I say we host some kind of Mega competition of some kind.
Don't ask me what kind though, I'm just throwing that out there.
