What is it's name?
The Paladin [Diablo II Variant.]
What is it's story?
WARNING : I Wouldn't spoiler' it if it wasn't so fucking long. Beware.
During the mid-twelfth century, after the Church of Zakarum had gained prominence in the East, the Church decreed that the visions of Akarat would be spread throughout the known world in order to redeem the masses. Thus, the Church selected a group of its most charismatic and devoted priests and sent them on a mission to proselytize the people of the West.
Unfortunately, the Church had not prepared these men for the rigors of travel nor the hazards of the world. The priests who survived their missions recounted tales of harsh weather, inadequate supplies, attacks from bandits and even encounters with horrible monsters. To ensure the success of future missions, the Church set about training holy warriors, Paladins, to accompany and safeguard their missionaries. In practice, these "Protectors of the Word" proved to be more successful at converting the native peoples than the Priests that they were assigned to defend. Impressing the locals with daring deeds, powerful weapons, and martial prowess was far more convincing than the condemnations of a soft-spoken monk. However, once the Word had been spread to every major city of the West, the "Protectors of the Word" faded from public view.
Some decades later, Paladins were again called into service. During the height of the Time of Troubles, the Church commenced a second campaign of conversion. This time, however, the inconvincible were deemed evil. The Zakarum Inquisition spread through the lands like a tempest, laying waste to all suspected of demonic possession or corruption. Leading this crusade was a new generation of Paladins, known as the "Hand of Zakarum." These cavaliers of righteousness swept through the lands, expunging the taint of demonic contamination wherever they found it.
In the midst of this bloody crusade, a rebellion arose within the ranks of the Paladins of Zakarum. The rebels condemned the methods of the Inquisition, proclaiming that the new Order of Paladins should protect the innocent, and that the evil corruption was rooted in their forebear's failure. They resolved to fight the true source of corruption, the Three Prime Evils - Diablo, Baal and Mephisto. And so, these rebellious Paladins left their Zakarum brethren and ventured west.
What does it look like? (feel free to post sprites/images)

(The Man deserves a Woman for his work. No offense to the females that play, of course! O_O)
How does it play? (physics, abilities)
Like the Original Paladin. He won't carry all skills that were set out to play by in Diablo II (:Lord of Destruction), but Jesus Christ I'm packing heat for this one. He uses a few of his auras, some of his natural skills, even Fist of the Heavens! And his Crossbow was just an add-on idea.
What are it's weapons?
Sword, capable of controlling his skills and auras. The abilities to charge into the fray, leap with immeasurable strength, and cease the field of time (aka move so fast, yet have clear view of your movement). Cast Aura's, aka fields of light and source of the gods which grant separate abilities. List as follows :
Holy Fire : With a hint of brimstone in the air, the Paladin can cast this aura to increase his surrounding temperature to randomly set a-flame. Does low damage, but if you stick around too long your gonna become a Ghoul'en wing dipped in BBQ sauce.
Salvation : Resistance is a mighty thing, but having 1/4 damage is an incredible gift. Though this is so, when using this aura you are provoked from harming others as well! Your damage will suffer 4-fold (Damage you do, divided by 4 [EVEN THE ONE HIT INSTA KILL SPELL WILL BE WEAKER!].)
Note : Doesn't mean the Creeper can't fucking pwn you...
Fanaticism : With rage, fury, and just about anything else that causes hatred and anger to be unleashed - the Paladin can use this Aura to increase his attack speed X2, and his damage X2 (Doesn't apply to the insta kill spell). Takes x2 damage when this aura is active, as he is less apt to paying attention to pain.
Meditation : Such ghastly creatures that wander around, you wonder how the paladin manages to stay alive - even with the powerful effects of other auras. This is how. Meditation causes health to regain over time, along with Mana regeneration rate increasing! Though sadly, while doing this, it takes 2 seconds to switch to another aura - must stand when doing so, and you cannot attack AT ALL!
Crossbow, capable of imbuing the power of heaven into it to cast bolts of pure light.
Spell Book, can change spells and smite evil with swift abilities. Has a one-shot skill that will nuke a ghoul instantly. Don't miss! Casts holy bolts, mystical ethereal hammers, and bless him with resistances that are amazingly indestructible (invulnerable for 5 seconds. RUN LIKE HELL! [You, And the Ghoul. Cause you know that player won't be happy with ya...] ).
Why does it belong on GVH?
Holy powers of the world were not enough. Marine isn't dedicated to smiting evil, Hunter does it for fame and women (lol whore hog) and the Cyborg does it for revenge. The Ghost Buster... well... he was appearantly "called in". The Paladin seems to be the one devoted to smiting all evil with no mercy, unless given reason.
Note : This class is already being made by me, but since it won't necessarily be "OFFICIAL" to some of you, I'm leaving it here as a book-mark :)
Hate to Advertise, but...
GvH : HC is where this pretty puppy is getting revealed. I'm... sorry if this really seems like a show-boat post. Can you two Forgive me? :'( [Wartorn, Cutmanmike]
