Anyone else prefer Team Battle over Free For All in multiplayer? Recently I've been getting more and more pissed off with the Free For All mode because like Smash Bros, people seem to of fallen into incredibly specific, incredibly annoying playsets that get used almost every single battle. I can't go through a single Free For All without being put into a black hole, or have to deal with multiple people using clubs. I also seem to of not figured out how to melee properly, as almost every time I get thrown into a countering battle, I always end up losing the standoff, no matter who the opponent seems to be, and no matter what weapon they seem to have. With team battle, I at least know that every gun on the field isn't completely focused on me, and the pacing is a lot more comfortable for both sides.

I really don't think I should play Free-For-All ever again. There's little pressure to losing a game since your losses aren't recorded, but it's feels pretty crappy to lose over and over again, regardless of how good or bad I play.

Brotoad made some really amazing sprites of all the Doctors and Reboot's getting more expressive in his drawings. Both those things are why I like the anyone's art thread sometimes.

On the occasions that I do pixel art it doesn't turn out anywhere close to the quality Toadbros can do. Expected, but it makes me feel weird posting it here when we've got cool spriters like 'im. So here's (Kirby's) Adventure Time:

All four are based off icons existing in Kirby's Adventure already. Finn is Sword, Jake is Beam, B.M.O. is Laser, and Bubblegum is U.F.O.

Sooooo, I've developed this trend where I've been making multiple copies of my favorite weapons just to try them out in different scenarios. I've got about 3 Skyscraper Clubs now, and 3 of a spoiler weapon:

Also, through random play online, I've grown really really fond of the gimmicky powers given to you throughout the game. They serve next to no purpose in solo mode, but in multiplayer battles, they are so amazingly fun to use. I can't really make a power set anymore online without equipping myself with these certain powers:

Heyyyyyyyy more activity in the art thread! That's what I like to see, people making the effort to draw! We've got some people spritin', some people drawin', some people photoshopin', it's a busy place. Toadbros continues to make cool sprites and cool colouring, new people are making the effort to sprite and improve, and Kapus has drawn a Kirby I haven't even tried to yet even though it's my favorite icon in Kirby's Adventure. Keep it up everyone!

Here's two things i've had coloured over the past five days.

Panty and Stocking (Safe for work drawing of a NSFW series):

And Princess Peach as she was in the Game and Watch Gallery Chef game(for the first time I'm okay with how I drew a Mario Princess' hair)

Oh, and also, @sonicfan966, as Press Start says, just don't be afraid to continue on with drawing and learn as you proceed. The only art education I've had is a small little outside of school, once-a-week two hour class I went to for the majority of my Grade 12 year. I also love to make friends with artists and learn how they like to see and interpret things, how they go about working at and enjoying drawing, and just sharing thoughts with them, even if it's just about what kind of thing you like to draw on. Don't be afraid of subject matter either (I'm not saying learn how to draw smut or other graphic stuff, but figure drawing never hurts!) and keep yourself open to all the different subjects and opinions around you. Sometimes you can even just watch a bad cartoon and figure out what NOT to do (Probably one of the main reasons people watch the Curse of the Lion Men Megaman episode). Just keep at it and learn as you go.

My most effective weapon is a Drill Arm I fused a while back with a five-star range, but zero melee, paired with +2 defense, +1 recovery effect, and a +3 confusion. Not only is it one of the coolest looking weapons in the game, it's really reliable, especially when countering people that rush in to melee me online (somehow things work out in my favour when I have the Drill equipped). I've also got Pandora Claws with +3 evasion and +4 speed with added burning effect, and those are crazy effective, even with three-star range and no melee. My second best weapon online however is my Lancer Staff which has four-star range and a lot of running speed and confusion effects, along with peril autododge.

When I played a later chapter on difficulty 7 however, I ended up digging up a really high value Samurai Blade somehow which came with three-star range and one-star melee, but the bonuses were absolutely amazing. It came with +5 to overall defense, +3 to health, weakening effect, +4 standing cont.fire and +4 recovery effect. It's only downside is the -3 in speed, but being able to dish out heavy damage near and far, and hold ground with the huge bonuses is just incredible. I'm definitely holding onto this weapon~.

Also you guys make me feel like I really suck at this game. I play on an average 5.0 - 6.0 difficulty whenever I play a stage for the first time, but I go back later on to try out the higher difficulties. I guess whenever I hear you talking about the higher difficulties I assume you guys are getting from start to finish with no problems whatsoever and no need to continue, even on your first run. If that's the case though, guess i'm just bad at videogames!

I just like to get through chapters without dying so I can keep whatever hearts and spoils I ended up getting and not have them altered, so I play lower difficulties on average. I already tried going through chapter 7 on intensity 9, but I kinda got killed in the air battle at the last checkpoint before entering the land battle phase.

Thanks for the help Korby.

Playing online has been pretty fun in this game as well, but I haven't done a single team battle, just free for all battles. I've found people have been using really fast weapons over everything else, and I don't really blame them. I've got some weapons I thought were good for play and had high value, but they just haven't been working out so well. Sometimes you'll be using a weapon that might be uncomfortably slow once you try it out, and won't offer much defense as you hope for, then someone just comes by and claws you into oblivion. All part of the fun of it though, getting weapons more suited for your play habits. I've grown fond of staff usage, and throwing the confusion status everywhere.

Still trying to make my dream club weapon, but no good weapon fusions are coming up.

I've been averaging about a 4.0 - 5.0 difficulty playing through levels for my first time. I've gone back and done a few stages at around 6.0 - 7.0, mostly the first four chapters. I'll try out the hardest difficulties when I get better versions of the weapons I really like. I mean, Chapter 7 taunts you with a nice level 9 intensity gate, so I really wanna check that one out. I wanna be able to go into the 9.0 difficulties with a comfortable Skyscraper Club, but until then I've got this Drill Arm with a five star range and big confusion bonuses.

My ultimate goal for this game is to just get the best confusion weapons.

It's been a while since I played either of the Sin and Punishment games, so getting and playing KI:U has been really REALLY fun. Unlike Sin and Punishment though, I love the multitude of weapons available to you to keep gaining through the game and fusing for cool bonuses. Gives me something to work for when I can make my favorite weapon, and try to get it to have all the cool special traits I want it to have. Even after a day of playing, i'm up to chapter 7 and already fiddling around with the higher difficulties for cooler weapons. My favorite weapons so far are the Ball Cannon (Pirate hat cannon machine), and the coolest bludgeoning weapon i've ever seen, the Skyscraper Club~.

I also love the characterization of pretty much everyone. Pit's a happy obnoxious little child who can't tell a good joke to save whatever wings he has, and Palutena has to be the most laid back god ever. Every time Pit finishes his missions on foot, I half expect him to come back to whatever base in Skyworld he and Palutena reside at, and just see Palutena vegging on a couch in sweatpants, drinking wine and watching Desperate Housewives.

Also the fact that all of them seem to acknowledge it's a video game.

I think my favorite thing in your last drawing there Reboot is the thing that looks like a lightning tiger. Also, out of curiosity, do you have a sketchbook Reboot, or do most of your drawings take place on school paper? There's no problem with the school paper you're using, you're scanning it in decent quality, but a sketchbook will always be helpful to have. Plus you can take it to places besides school and draw things where you go, and that's pretty neat!

I know it hasn't been long since I last posted here, but I wanted to put this up here since Swapnote is a pretty popular things with us at the moment. Drawing Nikki is fun, especially when you forget that the Nikki Mii has blue pants, and you end up using one of FuPoo's drawings to draw her up.

I think Swapnote porn is the same as someone drawing like, a crude drawing of a wang or something similar in a bathroom stall with a sharpie. It can be a bit funny, but it's not a really big deal, someone just felt like drawing it for whatever reason.

I don't have time do draw nudes in Swapnote though, I'm too busy drawing Sega stuff~.

And Kirbies

Ehh, I was pretty much using a quote from a Chip and Ironicus Retsupurae to write that line there, so yeah, guess that was a really bad move on my part. Guess I really should change the name back to Ridley. I did have someone point that out to begin with earlier today, so it'd probably be better just using the game names, plus I did want to fix up a few other things on the image.

Sorry guys, I'll try to make an effort to be witty next time, haha.

It IS Ridley, of course it is. But Samus would base the kids books off of experiences she's had, and just rename things in the book. Like her main protagonist wouldn't just be called Samus, people would catch on. Also, what if Ridley reads her books?! She doesn't wanna make it RIDLEY the Bully, that'd be too obvious.

whats everyones kart combinations for mk7?
I GOTS TOO MANY WHERE TO BEGIN

I will usually be playing as Daisy because she's a pretty cool girl, but when I feel like playing other characters I go for dudes like Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Toad, and the Mii, depending on what Mii I choose to use (I'm usually swapping between a Chie Satonaka Mii, a Slime Mii, and a Shin-Chan Mii).

As for combinations:

-Barrel Train/Standard/Peach Parasol (I will ALWAYS be Daisy with this combination because I just like Daisy in a train with her own personally coloured parasol.
-Pipe Frame/Standard/Beast Glider (I grew to love the Pipe Frame body it's really cool)
-Pipe Frame/Monster/Peach Parasol (Because it looks dumb and no one uses the Monster, it's always Red Monster)
-Cact-X/Gold Tires/Standard Glider (I only use Donkey Kong for this one. It's really awkward, but really fun)
-Cloud 9/Slim/Paraglider (It's cute is all)
-Koopa Clown/Monster/Paraglider (Only DK and Rosalina for this combination, because I love the idea of this kart being like some kind of mag wheel terminal defense system)
-Tiny Tug/Monster/Beast Glider (BEEP BEEP I'M PILOTING MY GIGANTIC-ASS BOAT GET OFF MY ROAD)

I tend to avoid stuff like the B-Dasher, Red Monster, and Mushroom Wheels, because the only massive quantites of red and white I wanna see on the track is of the Canadian flag, but even then that's rare as ever.
