for me, it's now always "STONEFUNK" ^^ (as the theme remix xD

Duuuuude I love that mix!

And I remember playing with Riolu a bunch of times when I first got the game.  P.S., I like your avatar; I've been seeing a lot of those "lick the screen" avatars lately .3.

oh wow.

Oh WOW.

So this thing wasn't a hoax after all, huh?  Oh WOW.

This'll probably be the first time I'm actually gonna play an MMO in an Asian language before  it's even released in any English form.  I've GOT to get my hands on this, lol.

So it looks like it's going to work very similarly to MMOs like Maple Story, only have much better graphics and such.  I.. think it looks really, really good myself.

So do you only get to play as a small selection of the game's heroes, or many of the Robot Masters and other characters?  Making a totally custom Mega Man series character would be really cool, too...

Oh man, it's really cool to be posting on the same forum as you--I've been listening to your chiptunes for a couple years now :3

But yeah, that looks really cool!  You also did one with the Power Adapter, right?  I was watching bits of that the other day..

It really seems like something I wanna try.  I've done Mega Buster-only in a few games, but Power/Jet-only in 6 would be pretty neat, and potentially way more challenging.. (especially Power).

Well, it looks like it's full, and I have 250 ping there.. but I've been really wanting to try some team LMS, so I'll try logging in sometime and see how it goes.

Metal Storm... is that the one for NES where you can flip gravity at will?  I've barely played it, but it seems pretty sweet.  Like, a game I'd have been obsessed with if I'd had it as a kid.

As far as I've seen, Celebi and Turbo are both really, really good and the best players I've personally experienced playing with, though pretty much everyone who entered that tournament thing a couple weeks ago were really good too, people I don't often seen otherwise like lord bubbleman and DTD.

I'm Relias now and forever (I guess :3 ) but I've at least settled on a color scheme for my name, shifting shades of yellow~

And even though you'll see me use cute stuff like :3 and ~ more than anyone else in the world, I'm a guy!~

There've been a lot of really funny times, but here's a couple I can think of off my head..

 - Heat Man as the lone zombie climbing around the outer walls of Fire Man's stage, then getting behind a fenced window part and looking in at the survivors.  Then getting blasted through the fence.

 - Me and.. I forget who it was, but we collided into each other midair and died as I was the very first zombie in Gyro Man's stage, like, as SOON as I turned into a zombie.

 - Every time like 10 people pile into the telporter at once.

*edit*  Is it bad that every time I see the title of this thread, I think it says "MM8BDM Furries"?

This sounds cool.  Yeah, I actually love a lot of different MM2/RM2 hacks but this is one of the most extensive, impressive and well-known.

And it has M. Bison Heatman.

I... how did I miss this?

This is what I've been waiting for.  Korby did what I thought would be too daunting once I found out I couldn't simply *assemble* them, but had to get permissions...

Thank you so much, really~ <3

hey cool this journal has a "NOTES" section at the end that no one uses just like old video game instruction booklets

oh uh i mean

Yeah.  I really like this.  The whole presentation has tinges of corniness but overall I think it's really cool to see it presented in an "in-world" style like this.  Of course, some of the things Renegade says are pretty funny or unfitting given the situation, especially when he forgets the names of weapons or stages despite being robotic, though in that situation even a Reploid or whatever he is may be experiencing "memory overload" or what have you.

Of course, we'be been over this, but Top Spin, isn't quite 'completely useless', it's just more situational; it can DESTROY a zombie but you need to sneak up behind it while it's focussing on someone else or something.  It'd be cooler if Renegade had said something like "Top Spin could be effective but there's no way I'm getting within range to use it, it's too dangerous!"

And... yeah.  I couldda sworn I had more, but I can't think of it now.  Overall, though, I'm glad you decided to do this, if no one else does, I appreciate that you do this kinda thing Ren :3  It adds flavor to the forums!

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: that cross in the ceiling of knight man's stage
« on: November 20, 2010, 06:25:45 AM »
I really don't think mavrick meant to be literal about the child-killing demon thing, lol.  It's just, in many video games you play as something that you yourself are nor, or would not like to be; such as a giant blue hedgehog or a pudgy little Italian man.  And then sometimes you're really messed up guys that you'd never WANT to be (at least in the situation they're in at the beginning of the game) i.e. most the Grand Theft Auto protagonists no matter how much you love playing those games--if it were YOU, in real life, you wouldn't be able to pull off the things those guys pull off.  You wouldn't wanna be those guys.  But it's fun to play as them.

So Castlevania has some Christian undertones considering these guys fighting Dracula and evil itself are basically holy warriors--the crosses, holy water, sacred weapons, Trevor kneeling in front of the cross at the beginning of Castlevania 3, Leon Belmont being a Crusader, etc.  -- yeah, these guys are mostly Christians, or at least "holy" enough to be able to use items like Holy Water as effective weapons (i.e. Alucard); but the games themselves are never remotely heavy with Christian undertones, it's just what your playable characters tend to be based off of--holy warriors who'd fight against evil, fantasties from medieval times when people really thought enemies like that existed in reality and needed to be hunted and killed.  Of course, that's  just the raw basis of the idea for the series and as has bene mentioned there's plenty of Greek, Egyptian and various other mythologies strewn all around the games, and from the very first Castlevania/Akumajo Dracula the real main influence would seem to be classic monster films much more than real-world Christian mythology.

Plus, realize that back in the day Nintendo of America was even kind enough to censor the 'Cross' subweapon as the 'boomerang' and edit out religious implications in the backgrounds; plus, you gotta consider heroes like Soma Cruz in some of the newer entries of the series who could hardly be considered Christian, though who knows.

Basically, yeah, don't worry about it 8)

For Reggae, I like the idea of him spawning and laughing as Wil said, but any enemies nearby when he does so will have their screens covered with feathers and move more slowly for a few seconds, as he flaps up and away.  Like, a total annoyance/debuff move.  The feathers probably wouldn't cover the screen as fully as Flash Stopper's flash but just make things annoying.

Treble should give the Treble Boost, just don't add the 'wing' part; give the player the purple color palette and have all their attacks become very powerful 3-simultaneous-burst blasts (that are of course horizontal as opposed to the game's vertical); they're slow to fire but very powerful, especially if you're clos enough to hit someone with all three.  Maybe also give them a double-jump or however the Rush Adapter's jetpack function works, so it could be like an alternative to that item.

I thought MM8BDM's Bass was based on the MM10 Bass sprite.  Maybe I just have bad eyes.
And I still can't decide whether I wanna play as Junk or Spring, fff...

Anyway;
This thread I made a few days ago goes over ideas I have for how the weapons should maybe work.  I can't wait to play with stuff like Danger Wrap and Slash Claw, no matter HOW you put them in I'm sure they'll be fun <3

And brotoad, I think an MM10 version would be awesome, personally :3  I mean, I know Slash is the only MM7 Master with an official 8-bit rendition, but any step we can take closer to official sprites is just that much cooler, IMO.

Hey, I'mma good guy!

Well, you're a bad guy in the games.  And yellow devil's kinda like Clayface, though as far as I know Clayface wasn't around back in the campy days, it still kinda works .3.

Man, we already have 70 members--AND a lot of people who actually use the chat.  Basically, it's a lot more active than 90% of weird random steam groups I've joined or tried to hang out around; it's evolved already to "slightly active possibly high hopes for this" status!

And a lot of these guys I haven't seen on the forum, I wonder where they're all coming from?
