The Ghoul's Forest / Re: GVHv2 beta 7 released - No more expansions
« on: January 16, 2010, 02:08:09 PM »
The Ghostbuster isn't really overpowered, take the suggestions mentioned above to make him a little more versatile. Right now he's like the Hunter, Marine, and Santa he has a weapon for every situation. Except he has to get kills with the usually weak plasma gun to gain access to them. If he got rewarded for killing a ghoul with a ho-hum weapon, then it defeats the purpose of the whole system. Not to mention the number of times I got killed directly after managing to kill a ghoul and steal his powers. The GB is fine (for now) at where he is now.

Take the above suggestion at what could be done from Robjoe, if they are not impossible. It would make the GB even more useful, and probably still not OP since he has to kill for those new traps and such, although hopefully the improvements aren't too powerful.

Anything Goes / Cutstuff IRC Materializes

You may find me on IRC frequently, and for all I know some of you guys use IRC too.

A little while back I was brwosing all the new rooms that had been created on the Skulltag IRC network, and not too far from the top I saw this: #Cutstuff

I know for a fact Cutmanmike didn't create this and I have no idea who did, although my first guess would be White, except he would be found floating around in the channel if he did.

Regardless, it is there. That is all.

Well, that's a relief, at least now I don't have to redo like half the map. Maybe sometime soon I can actually catch it and see how it plays online.

Regardless of team balance,
I have a couple things to say...

GVH28, lots of people complain that this map is way too huge and I have never had a chance to play it online because people constantly do changemap on the map rightp before it over to GVH29, which is the only map I ever play online. I haven't layed GVH online and not played GVH29 once since this was released. Now it's a good map, I recognize that, but there are other good maps as well. GVH28 may not look like it was hard to make, but in reality I had to resize it multiple times, which required me to do an edit for almost every square meter of the map every time. So in response to the lack of people even including that map in the rotation, I'm going to pick it up off my folder, dust i off,a dnt then cut it in half, and fix the open part. The result will be a much smaller version of GVH28. Now the public: should I redo GVH28 for a smaller size?

I really hope you are gonna release like 1 more version of CD at least with my map update in it...

Also Frostbite, a lot better in version 2, also still the weakest ghoul. Could it be his damage? No. His speed? No. It's his "armor". 120 heath may seem like a lot, but when you take into account that Frostbite take twice the damage of every shot for some odd unexplainable reason, then he becomes a walking target. Something about his damage resistance is a little off with that guy.

Could there also be some kind of list, not in game (but in a text file) listing the various achievements and how to get them. When I get some random achievement I'd like to at least know what in the world I did to get it.

Like the new size. Only things bothering me are some misplaced textures and minor texture misalignments. Everything seems to check out with this map.

I've heard lots of complaining about GVH30, what do you plan to do with that map?

Technically GVH only beat out Greenwar 2. UDMX, LOS... they got a cacoward too.

Most of the maps were dominated by ghouls en mass because everyone shifted over to the ghoul side, but even when the teams were sometimes balanced out the game favored ghouls (keep in mind that this is with many players). The failure on the part of the humans could have been attributed to lack of skill tough, not to mention the usual new class spam that goes on. Honestly, it is too hard to discern this early on exactly what is good and what is bad, but one thing is for sure, GVH29 is still too big. No matter how many ghouls went up against the humans, they got sniped with no cover.

I will have to word this very carefully to be understood...

Skulltag moderators will ban you from their site after seeing the way that you post. By this I mean not your deplorable grammar, but for what you say. I will explain:
You post pointless comments, like this one for example (as with a little research, this topic could have been completely avoided). When you reply to topics, 99.9% of the time you drive it offtopic (talking about a homework assignment in a topic about GVH classes? (hypothetically, although I'm willing to put money down that you have done this in that topic)).

Advice: Don't bother registering with ST until
1. Your written grammar improves, a lot...
Reason: You will annoy many people, and since you didn't automatically get a confirmation e-mail, you will have to ask an admin via e-mail for one, and once they see your grammar you can pretty much throw first impressions out the window, along with your confirmation e-mail.
2. Improve on your posting habits.
Reason: Follow the rules, stay on topic , and also, when making a post make sure it has a point to it, instead of "i love this mod its my favorite its great!", leave some criticism or at least say why it's good, no one cares that you like a mod, unless you leave some reasons and criticism behind. If you don't get this stuff down, your skulltag membership has about a week, tops.

http://skulltag.com/download/ - Download the skulltag client here, set up your configurations (hopefully you can on your own, don't bother asking for help on how to install skulltag by the way...), open Doomseeker (which also needs to be set up, have fun with that...), and choose a server to play. You don't need an account on the Skulltag Forums to do any of that.

I... I...

I didn't know it was possible to fail those...

Some advice: When your IQ reaches 50, you should sell...

Question: pucy100, are you a spambot (?), because those are mainly meant to keep privacy and to keep spam away.

How is YTP funny? Can anyone here justify its humor?
