MM10 takes place a month after the intial outbreak, Roll probably got infected near the end of this month and was thus still suffering earlier symptoms.
Or it could very well have to do with her older version of AI working differently with a virus intended for newer systems.

As for just 8 robot masters and Wily serial numbers, I got a theory for that.

The games don't actually show the whole scale of world domination or fighting that goes on in these schemes. Mega man's role is to wade through strongholds to defeat the robot master leaders; world militaries are fighting the hench-robots right outside the base and those attacking the general populace.
These robots are immune to bullets and plasma weaponry is too heavy and has too much recoil for a human to use. Fighting them is actually a really tough job and going after the leaders themselves is suicide especially when considering the hazards on the way.
All this considered, perhaps there were more than 8 in MM10 but the army actually managed to defeat a few of them.

And as part of the policy regarding the processing of these types of mishaps, governments must have official names (serial numbers) and full information on the robots' production. Usually they were all built in one place, but not so in MM6 and MM10.
Given their notoriety in helping Wily's schemes (and being eliminated by Mega Man), naming them DWNs is actually perfectly acceptable and simple.

I don't know. I could buy the Mega Man 6 robots were stolen by Wily, but I think YD might be right about the MM10 being built by Dr. Wily and then placed in society until the outbreak began. My evidence: The hidden track in the Rockman 10 Image Soundtrack. Granted, I can't understand what's said in it, but I think that Dr. Wily may have been activating his robots.  He even says there names as well.

They might still be working for Dr. Wily. After all, specific robot masters were fightable in Power Battle and Power Fighters. Plus, the Mega Man Killers (excluding Quint because he's lame) returned in Mega Man 10 and Cut Man returned as a secret boss in Mega Man X8.

Heads-Up-Display. In our case, the weapon icon, health, ammo and the FPS weapon view.

ProtoMan looks absolutely epic
Bass is a lot more bad-ass then his RM counterpart
PlantMan is still stupid, but he's not as stupid as his RM
ElecMan looks bad-ass
MetalMan is definately my favorite NetNavi
MagnetMan seems interesting
Roll definately looks like she can defend herself a lot better then her RM counterpart (and yes, Roll counts as a Robot Master)
StarMan looks kinda cool
NeedleMan looks awesome (even though he acts like a psychopath)
IceMan still looks adorable

I could go on and on.

I think that if there's another game in the Battle Network series, they might include Navi's of Robot Masters we haven't seen yet. How awesome would it be to see a GeminiMan.EXE?
