MM8BDM Discussion / Re: There's a poser around
« on: December 18, 2010, 10:02:05 PM »
It's flawed, but we realized it after the other person started talking in a very idiotic way, or in other words, every other word was a curse word and (s)he used acronyms a lot.

Still doesn't mean vote kicking should be removed.

They kinda do. Other day Ranita and some mexicans were talking a lot and not playing at all. Did they get kicked for griefing? No. And they didn't play half of the game. Heh, you don't know, because you're not always around, so you only catch the train as it is moving.

Well maybe you should try a vote kick yourself? That's why it's there. You can't expect others to always solve your own problems.

So obviously there is some rhyme and reason to vote kick. If people were vote kicking you just to vote kick you, would you have stayed in that server? No. People vote kick you when they get ticked off by your spectating as soon as you're infected. Get over it.
Or, to say it in better teams, look at Stylin' posts.

ahahaha, nice post dude, but nope. Vote Kicks are nice, so we can kick the Guys, who use the Fairless Spot in Metal Mans Stage, or we can kick Ragequitters
Nope. Save it for grievers (Like Creepy Stalker sometimes, for he stays on your face, blocking you, on purpose), Command Spammers (Chasecam on/off until server crashes. Happened yesterday) and trolls (When infected, they just run. When Survivor, they only suicide or do nothing)

When you're infected, half the time you suicide/spectate almost as soon as you are infected.
Other times you'll start to play, then give up the second you get mad.
Then on a few occasions (generally after you have been vote kicked off) you start playing fully.
So all in all, vote kick seems pretty fair anyway. If the whole server or the vast majority want to kick you off, then be it. Play the game instead of spectating when you get infected and maybe people will actually not vote kick you.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: What do you consider an exploit?

So obviously the two invincible spots in Air Man's stage for Roboenza are not "exploits" at all. Just flaws? Still seems like an exploit if no one can get you.

1: Easy to do, but you have to spin FAST once in there.
2: I don't have OpenGL, and I saw someone do that to me.
3: yes, but some players are too smart for them.
4: yes, but is it through a blind spot? got to be
5: I never found that one;

1) You don't have to spin "fast" at all. Halfway through the spin your momentum is towards the wall. Yamato Spears won't help you there.
2) The person who tags you must have OpenGL.
3) So what? If they are too smart for you, kudos to them. Although a falling infected is generally too fast for most people.
4) Blind spot? Definitely. Unless they have OpenGL and can look straight downward.

Gemini man stage's holes? Run in backwards.

Metal Man gears? Find someone with OpenGL and have them aim downward. Even with Pharaoh show they can get them.

Crash Man's holes? Climb above and drop down. You'll easily get them.

Crash Man's invisible ladders? Climb up them and aim as high as possible. Even non OpenGL users can get people up there.

Air Man's stage? Been fixed.

MM8BDM Discussion / So, you've recently been infected with Roboenza?
« on: November 23, 2010, 03:23:51 AM »
1) Have you noticed changes in mobility?
2) Feeling your insides are starting to react with higher temperatures?
3) Is your body green with a reddish glow?
4) Are you able to climb almost any wall at a slow pace?
5) Have you been touched recently by someone with the above symptoms?

If you answered yes to a majority of these (especially number 3) then congratulations! You have been recruited by Dr. Wily to become a member of the Roboenza apocalypse! Well what does this mean? Nothing shorter than you will be a help in the destruction of all man and robot kind! Isn't that something?

Now I'm sure you're wondering, "What can I do?" Well you have three simple options.

1) Zombicide - Can't stand being infected? Well just jump into the nearest pit. A more simpler method would be to dissipate and become a "spectator."

2) Shamble on your own - Not sure what to do? Maybe just wander the level, avoiding contact from infect or uninfected. This is generally boring and is almost guaranteed death.

3) Join the Hoard! - Find the nearest group of infected and join in on the fun! If no group is there, make your own by infecting innocent bots. Remember, no opponent is too difficult to catch. Just play it smart.

If you answered 3, then good news for you. The following is a series of strategies and tactics to infect other robots and bring destruction to all! But before that is done, let's first take a look at how your new and improved body operates.

The two weaknesses all infect have is A) The inability to use weapons B) Decrease in speed. But these are all minor setbacks. Who needs weapons when you can infect someone with a single touch? Decreased speed? With enough infected, even the toughest players can be flushed out.
The Improvements are your ability to increase your numbers with a single touch and now you can scale about any wall with ease! Just don't make the mistake new infected make when climbing. Once at the top of your climb, aim downwards to climb off the wall.
There are also perks in being what has been dubbed the alpha infected. This player is the first person to be infected with Roboenza. This player has amazing health and armor and won't flinch at even Water Wave spam. This no-flinching is lost once another robot is infected, but no matter. The newly infected will have decent armor and will be able to help you infect other players, as long as it isn't cowered and commits Zombicide.
CAUTION: With your new abilities comes a price. You can only serve your term for about 90 seconds. Heck, my time is winding down typing this, so use this guide wisely. Just be sure to at least infect one robot during your infected period and you should be fine.

Now that you're adjusted to your new body, don't go running out like a mad hound. Think about where your prey is, and come up with a strategy to get them. Here are a few. Fell free to experiment with your own methods.

1) Find the lone robot - There is almost always one. A single robot off on its own. Generally an easy target, but never underestimate them. Try and out flank them.

2) Find the group - Generally only a good idea in the absence of Water Wave and Crash Bombs, find the large group of people and attack them. Most of the time they'll be doing something stupid like a "Pharaoh Rave Party" or making a "Totem Poll" which will only hinder their movements and help you infect them.

3) Find the strongest player - A more difficult strategy, but one all the same. Find the player with the most tactical advantage to yourself. If this person has generally good aim and knows how to escape well, they know how to infect well. However, the odds are they will be the last to be infected.

4) Out flank them - Once you have your own hoard backing you up, even the greatest robot will succumb to you, with enough infected blocking. Remember, they only have so much ammo. And fool who wants to go solo against 6 infected is in for a rough trip into servitude.

5) Camping - Others will do this, so why not you? Ideal places are behind corners, behind teleporters (not on!), and generally any place players are found camping. Get there first and they're bound to show up.

6) Leading uninfected to their doom - There are always fool hearty robots who will think they can take you on. Let them think that and run away. Once you make a turn around a corner, turn back the direction you came and infect the other player as they attempt to run backwards, only to be too late. Their mistake is your gain.

7) Get out of being spammed - Eventually, all infected will run into Crash Bombs, Water Wave, Quick Boomerang, ect. However, instead of panicking in a corner, turn around and run backwards towards the enemy. This will give you a push away due to knock-back, and out of their firing range. Be careful around teleporters.

Now that you know how to fight, use caution and look out for the following things (any weapon tactic 7 works on will be tabled 7) -

1) Crash Bombs (7) - Arg! These things are a pain. Luckily they consume a lot of the living's ammo, and they will run out quickly. Just keep your distance and try to avoid these buggers at all cost!

2) Water Wave (7) - Jump. That's all you can do.

3) Quick Boomerang (7) - This thing is fast and consumes little ammo. Try your best to use 7 against them.

4) Teleporters - Best to almost never use teleporters. Even if you chase someone into it and get a "telefrag" it means nothing, unless they are the last player. High chance it is a trap. Turn around and get the player behind you, if you are one of the first 3 infected.

Remember, these aren't the only techniques available to infected, so experiment. Dr. Wily is counting on us! Oh, and to any non-infected reading this, just by opening this, you have contaminated your computer with Roboenza. Ha!

Through a lot of experimentation, a new weapon shines as a replacement when in lack of Charge Kick. This weapon, is the Heavy Knuckle.

Through carful studies, the Hard Knuckle has proven to show that if being swarmed by enemies, firing the Heavy Knuckle away from the group of infected will not only have a chance to hurt them, but with further increase the distance between the group and yourself. This works especially well if jumping, as your feet no longer will be producing more friction, and you will go flying backwards, but still not equal to that of the Charge Kick. Keep in mind the Heavy Knuckle can still be used when trying to be offensive, but if Charge Kick is available, prioritize it for fleeing.

It has also come to the Rawk's sad conclusion, that traveling in groups larger than 3 (unless said group is skilled with and has Crash Bombs or Water Wave) can only lead to becoming infected. The main reason behind this is that any more than this, and you may find yourself wound up in the front of the group while no one else will bother to move backwards, leaving you a sitting duck for the incoming infected.

The Rawk has been in this spot for too long and it is time to get moving, as the infected will most likely be here shortly. Remember, experiment with item 1 and Rush Coil. It can take you to new places, and possible, out of the infected reach, if only for a shorter while. But in this game of cat and mouse, every second is crucial, and there is no such thing as a "wasted second" as that second is one less second the infected is alive, as that 90 second counter won't stop.

Good luck. Rawk out.

A shame the "I see whale" takes away from it all. But it would be easy to crop it out. And the spectator message. Then it would be perfect.

Removed the words, life bar, and cross-hares. In my opinion, really brings out the best of that picture.

That's what I'm talking about. The other side is easy to get to. The Yashichi is actually difficult.

You get up there using Item 1 you get at the beginning of the round. It becomes a little easier to do if you have Rush Coil.

Unless you stand on a couple people's heads, that won't work. Rush Coil is required.

And much appreciated for the link Korby.
