Just because the two weapons deal the same damage does not make them the same. Noise crush moves, I believe, faster than Hard Knuckle, but you have to "charge" it. It also has its "uncharged" shot, which can bounce off of a wall once. Not to meantion Hard Knuckle also throws you back somewhat after each use. They're both completely different weapons. I do, however, miss magnet missile in that stage. In a regular DM there is no problem, but in duels, I have noticed it seems Mirror Buster rains supreme. Then again, this just comes down to this game being called "Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch" and not 8-Bit Duel.

It'd be interesting. Could be implamented through alt-fire. However, we'd have to decide how long to make the "wait" so it isn't so little it's Bass Buster or so much that it's useless.

I thought it was a 10 shot kill so I assumed 10. I could possibly be wrong.

Infinite ammo + 10 damage per shot =/= F-

Basically, my person schedual seems open about any hour of the day until September 1st. And since I can now record well, as long as one other member is on, it should be easy for us to go about this. I have a more reliable way of contacting Turbo now as well. I can make my schedual work for you guys, so if you pre scedual you match, I should be able to make it with ease.

Hmm, point taken on the Black Box. I tend to leave it off however, as when I play as a pyro, I got fairly annoyed by the sound.

I also double checked and you're right. On average, the Cow Mangler deals about 10-15 less damage all around. Seems I've made a fair few mistakes in that post.

Well the Cow Mangler was kind of bad when it first came out. The nerfed tones it down. Also, the lasers are just as powerful as regular rockets, and you 5 instead. It's not so bad. The worst thing is that you can't destroy sentries from long distance anymore. I still prefer the Black Box myself though. +15 health on a hit is not only great for general combat, but makes detecting if people are right around a corner easy.

That's true, and both weapons have their place, but again that's requiring you to be close to your enemy to use effectively. Metal Blades and be used effectively from any range. Thinking of it as a long range weapon, it has no option to be compaired to Metal Blades and Magnet Missile. Looking at it as a close range weapon, it has to be compaired to Top Spin and Slash Claw. It's a kind of middle ground, but the other weapons just do that job better.

Having a problem with slow moving weapons is a single persons problem. Being able to successfully aim Metal Blades is much more effective since you don't really have time to dodge it.

However, when it all comes down to it, these are still all people's opinion.

Saying Ice is better at close range is like saying Top Spin is better at close range. It's an obvious statement. Basically every weapon is better close range as your enemy has infinitely less reaction time. However, in the argument of Metal Blades vs Ice Slashers, I'd rather use Metal Blades unless I'm standing next to someone trying to give them a hug. Ice Slashers move at such a slower pace when placed next to Metal Blades, they are obviously inferior. They do the same thing, just Metal Blade gets it done faster. However, I could see it move to B-, but Metal Blades I still find superior, mostly due to their all around usage while Ice Slashers get most use only close up.

You have a point Ivory. I liked to mix it up though. Back in HG/SS, I had a competitive team that included A fair few non OU pokemon, most notibly, at least in my opinion, an Espeon, and it worked fairly well. Now, of course, he has moves up due to ability, but still.
People also give Electivire a bad rap, but I still find him to be an amazing switch in with something like Gyarados out.
But if your playing style never extends outside of the ingame story line and battles with your friends, use Pokemon you want. That's the amazing thing about Pokemon. You don't have 4 set characters you have to use throughout the whole game. You technically have 649 critters to mess around with and find out which you like best.
And Ghetsis isn't the only one. Drayden/Iris have a Haxsorus level 43. And, if I recall correctly, there is an Ace Trainer somewhere with a level 35 Faxure. I remember that making me really mad since my Axew was level 37 and unevolved.

Probably time attacking ERZ2 in Sonic Robo Blast 2. That stage is tough on it's own merit, let alone one to speed run down to below 4 minutes.

Doing Sub Space Emmisary on Intense while using no continues.

Venasaur is an amazing grass type. The only other Gen 1 I'd consider is Exeggutor or Victreebel. None of the others can really do much.

If you want a ground type, Nidoking is about the only good one. Dugdrio is possibly, but I'd lean more towards using Nidoking.

I would also recommend not using Magmar, as he really isn't that good of a fire type. Arcanine is pretty good, and I'd recommend him over any other gen 1 fire type. Possibly Ninetails if you want the Drought ability.

I also heavily recommend Gyarados, as he is arguably one of the best physical sweepers in the game. Especially if you decided to use a ground type, who will cover both his weaknesses.

They couldn't even play one match, and currently we have until 8:00 PM EST tonight since that's when Poland Man will be busy. So if you can stay online MrGuy, we just need to wait for Sora to get back.

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Favorite Maverick
« on: July 16, 2011, 06:32:13 PM »
I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. The three rules of robotics are in a sense, more like the rules made to govern out people, and the maverick virus makes them forget these rules. Now, what if in our society, you had an illness where you "forgot" the laws of the land? You'd feel free range to do whatever you want. As thus, Mavericks believe they have this free range. This is where the Maverick Hunters come in. They are more the police force, set to making sure all the laws of robotics are correctly followed.

I also think the reason there are no "human" forces out there is that it is much easier to send a robotic being out when said being can be rebuilt. And I highly doubt any human sides with the Mavericks. That is a highly insane idea. Most mavericks want to KILL the humans, or did you forget this? While it's possible they may view the MH as a "big brother" like being (see Copy X) there is no way they would ever side with the Mavericks.

I always nickname my team after RL friends so they aren't punny like yours guys.

I actually have two teams, one I used during game, and another I trained for post game.

Main team:
Samurott
Conkeldurr
Haxorus
Eelektross
Zoarark
Excadrill

Second Team:
Cobaltian
Terrakion
Virizion
Swanna
Chandelure
Hydreigon

All around 70/80 so I can could fight the round 2 Pokemon league.
