By replacing the originals, yes. But only you would be able to see the changes, which makes it pointless IMO. And to be honest I don't think a lot of people would download alternative HUDs.

Sprites have 2 numbers and letters so it mirrors that sprite instead of adding another image file for that angle. Take for example A2A8, this means sprite A2 would be just mirrored in A8. It can also be A8A2 so the sprite in A8 is mirrored in A2.

Angle 0 is special, it means the sprite won't have any rotations and will always show the same sprite in all directions. It's not used in MM8BDM so pay no attention to it.

Back to the topic at hand.

I'm currently using a FF3 Warlock sprite I edited out of boredom while I was working on the Warlock skin. It's not godly but I certainly liked the outcome.

OpenGL uses true colors and lets you aim directly above/below, while software sticks to the Doom palette and limits your vertical aim.
There's lots of other benefits like dynamic lightning, billboarding and 3D floors but most of them are useless in MM8BDM as of right now.

Also, I use software mode because my PC can't handle OpenGL correctly, but even if it did I think I'd still use Software since I don't suffer from that dizziness it seems to cause to a lot of people.

I think stairs make the game feel more like a platform game like the originals and it's a really nice touch, but they do interrupt the flow of the map in some rare occasions. I've always been in favor of adding new features to the game, such as this one. As long as they don't start popping up in every official map, I'd say go for it.

Just a heads up. Starting today I'm going on a trip to visit my father in a far far away land in a nearby town. Not implying that any of you should care, just saying that everything I should be working on will be on hold for a week or two since I probably won't have access to a functional computer. Oh yes, sorry. I have the "base" coding done, and I'm testing some of the effects I added to the projectiles. One thing I forgot to tell you though, the last sprite sheet you posted is kind of pixelated on the edges, could you send a link to the full sized one?

Sorry if I didn't post any progress till now, I just think it's not really necessary and would look dumb from my part to post every time I add something to the weapon. Then again, this isn't my project, so feel free to push the development a little. I've been juggling activities lately, so a reminder helps for sure.
