Fake-Man could only watch as everyone began to wander off without him. "Ignoring a man in uniform? ...Hmph. I have neither the authority nor the desire to arrest you for that. I certainly have no intention of going anywhere until I know who to arrest." He was building makeshift barricades around New City Square when a groggy-looking Sword-Man approached him. "Good evening, citizen," he said without looking up, "and welcome to another 20XX of Robotics. You missed the party, the fireworks, and us getting attacked by a Fake-Man faker. We killed him and his men with no trouble at all, but there was something peculiar about him—he wasn't a Robot who could easily put on a disguise, and there wasn't an IC chip in his remains, either. The way he was talking made him sound like he thought he was me...now everyone's heading off to find whoever they think knows what's going on. I'm staying here to reinforce the area as my base of operations. You'll probably run off yourself, but you're welcome here if you wish."
As he finished stacking sandbag after sandbag all the way around the park's perimeter, Fake-Man tapped the side of his head and activated his radio—defaulting to the Monsteropolis Police Station. "Hello? This is Officer Fake-Man, calling from New City Square. I have just been attacked by a doppelganger of myself and a platoon of Police Joes that he was leading. All opposing forces have been neutralized, but he wasn't a disguising Robot—he seemed like myself, only emptier. Requesting additional information. Over."
