I think there has been a fatal mistake.

There are 41 skins, yet 42 icons on the front page.

Should probably ask Blackhook before using SkullCastleVania things so I'd prefer if y'all didn't start on those until after asking.
I happen to talk to Blackhook in a chat occasionally, so...

Apparently there was some issue earlier, but I did make some basic refinements to Halloween:

To be this good at Copy-Paste takes AGES
How's he now?

Also, straight from last year, to those of you still looking for skin ideas:

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out this beautiful little sprite project this guy named Blackhook on DeviantART is doing did, SkullCastleVania.

Totally not a Sword Art Online moment.
Nope.
No siree.

Anyways, I'm going to make the probably-fatal-mistake of > Abstain from voting for the time being.

Didn't someone already make Simon?
Yes, but to be honest that skin looked pretty subpar from what I saw of it.
Plus it has a broken download link.   :|

Well, this is what Halloween-Man's frames look like on my end (Yes I hold onto the sheets of all my completed skins stop judging me).  I don't see anything wrong, so I guess that means I'm off the hook.

I might submit a certain spooky skin if I can recall the brilliant idea I had earlier today...

EDIT:

To be this good at copy-paste takes AGES.  How's it now?

I would lend my talents but I don't have a mic that doesn't suck
I could buy one though but I don't know what a good mic is

Nonetheless I'll be keeping an eye on this project

These are probably stupid but I'll toss them on the table anyway.

??? (Strength Module?  Overclocked Buster?)
Cost:  I'm not positive what's balanced, but it should have the same cost as its brother upgrade.
Effect:  When equipped with the Strength Module, the player will be able to charge their buster slightly faster, and charged shots do 4 damage instead of 3.  The drawback:  the player will suffer intense kickback upon firing their charged shots (That is lessened while on the ground), and the buster will eat a bit more weapon energy than it did before (Perhaps the energy for 4 shots would now only get you 3).

??? (Agility Module?  Overclocked Movement?)
Cost:  ' '
Effect:  When equipped with the Agility Module, the player will be able to run slightly faster (If their normal speed is 1, this should be between the range of 1.15 and 1.33), and slide a significantly further distance.  Unfortunately, this comes at the major sacrifice of the player's charged shot.

These upgrades are mutually exclusive and designed to make the player focus on a playstyle if he gets one or the other at all.  Only one can be equipped at a time and they can only be switched out for one another when the player has access to the Shop.

So, like a Vs. edition of MMSP Survival Co-Op, where one player is randomly chosen to be a super-powered-up version of a normal player, while the rest are grouped in another team, and they have to run through the same MMSP-style level separate from one another and the one who makes it farther/clears it first is the victor?

That...sounds really interesting, actually.  Complicated as all hell, but interesting.

At some people's request, I'm releasing the Proto-Spring skin.

If those walking frames were a fish, they would be a very ugly fish.  If Spring-Man ever gets some walking frames that don't suck, please let me know so I can fix up Proto-Spring's godawful walk cycles!

Who are the three people lurking in the Incomplete box perhaps perpetually?  We may never know for sure~!

I think I was allowed to PM it back but just in case I'm the one guy everyone's waiting for

"Locked and loaded."
Role confirmed.

Oh, look at that!  It's that time of the year once again.

I can't think of anything I should do this year around, so...Any refinement Halloween-Man needs, or is he good?

Oh, hey.  This was a booming success.  My dad suspected they would have trouble raising the last ~300,000-200,000...imagine his reaction when they got it in but three days.

I've yet to donate but I totally plan to buy in with at least $40.  In the meantime, I know this is like two thousand years back in time for you guys, but I've finally solidified my opinion on the Call designs.  1 is my favorite in descending order.

6 just registers as an Alia ripoff to me.
5 is a Roll ripoff, and Roll > Alia but I'd really like Call to be original-looking (And not have Roll Syndrome).
4 is...okay, I guess...she looks like a combat medic, and I guess that's alright, but I don't like her color scheme.
3 is getting there, but I think her hair looks dumb.
2 is really good, but it's a bit too fearsome for the role, and the color scheme isn't quite where it should be.
1 is my favorite mix between friendly and fearsome. Her demeanor is like Roll's but there's something in her eyes, I think the color scheme helps too, that makes her look like she's...serious. Focused. Like she could just as easily punch you as hug you. And I like that.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM Skin Contest #1! Winner Announced! (page 14)
« on: September 08, 2013, 10:36:52 PM »
Aaah, I never had a chance.  It always did bother me how Tengu-Man had so little to do with an actual tengu, so the concept was strong, and even then, the level of craftsmanship was far above mine.

My premise was Proto-Spring. If you're unfamiliar with the Rockman 7 prototype, well, basically, instead of the weird, abstract, happy-go-lucky stage he has now, Spring-Man's stage used to be a demented abandoned toy factory.  Basically I was drumming up an AU occasion where that was actually Spring-Man's home stage, and he dressed a little...differently...for the occasion.

My main priority was to make him as fearsome as possible.  This included giving him the three-pronged claws, removing some of the springs from his design, and encasing the torso spring in glass.  The latter was what killed me as without him being able to bounce around for his walking frames (And I didn't want him to do that anyway, it would ruin his image), I had to come up with some walking frames of my own.  And, of course, they came out shitty as shit can be.

Is it worth releasing what I got in an actual skin?

Just a small little thing I wanted to try...

...Dear lord, why did I even try this.
RMR Roll's spritesheet has so many things on it.  How did I convince myself that trying to NES it was a good idea?
