Cutstuff Discussion and Feedback / Re: New medal for fun events!
« on: August 07, 2014, 06:26:42 PM »
No, they wouldn't. The medal is mainly for events deemed for fun and are sponsored by Cutstuff.
Example, The mapping jam is not a mapping competition, nor is it a holiday event. It was an event where a bunch of mappers got together to make a mappack. Said event was also sponsored by Cutstuff, hence the medal.

I am honored that playing KatAM with me is worthy enough to be a life goal~!

I sorta feel like you guys are over-stating just how open KatAM was. Fact of the matter is, while the idea was sound and enjoyable, it wasn't THAT open. If you look at the map, most routes were still linear. You just had a choice at how you went around transverse the world. But fact of the matter was, KatAM didn't have any many loop arounds, most paths ended with a dead end. Most of the non-linear feeling came from figuring out how to get treasure chests and such.

So don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the heck out of KatAM, but I do wish for a game that was even more open with less dead end routes.

Amazing Mirror is one of my most favorite Kirby games. It's basically KSS's Great Cave Offensive turned into a full game, but no linearity. The only thing I dislike about it was how I had no one to play multiplayer with.

Me taking an absence? How new!

The story: As some of you know, I live in a household where my brother and sisterinlaw take care of foster children. One of them is an 11 year old girl. Now, she has no self control and spent weeks staying up to 3 in the morning watching youtube and looking at facebook. To stop this, my brother set up the router to block certain MAC addresses, thus cutting her off from the internet at night.

However, my brother went on his hike and left my not so tech-savvy sister-in-law access to the router backend to turn the girl's internet access on/off. She however made a grand mistake, she switched ALLOW all devices except for ____ to DENY all devices except for ______.

Now this should of been a simple fix, just use the Wii U browser to get to the back end and change it back. However, those rules weren't enabled, no device has access to the wireless. We were blocked off.

So I tired to reset the d-link back to factory defaults, but the thing refuses to see our internet connection or something along those lines. So until my brother gets back from his hike mon/tues, my only internet access is on this laptop directly connected to the modem. Fun.

I am just thankful that I already finished my maps. Any final touches will be left to Blaze and Lego as I can't really do anything at the moment.

I would prefer something like that over a charging bar, because then we would need to add them for every charging weapon just to be consistent, even though those weapons are visually obvious when they are fully charge.

Dear readers of Brawl in the Family…

Thank you so much for your support and involvement over all this time. Writing and drawing BitF over the past six-and-a-half years (!!) has been a heck of a great experience, but it’s with a bittersweet feeling in the pit of my gut that I’m making this announcement today. Brawl in the Family will be ending later this year. Today’s strip is not the last comic, though! We’ll still be updating for a couple more months!

It's not ending yet. I don't see any reason to get gloomy over it. BitF had a good run, and it's going to end in a planned manner rather than yet another artist who simply burns out.

I'm in agreement with Lego. I think if every map had its own unique boss music, the file size for the final package is going to be absolutely absurd.

To quote Lego.
Quote
[8:24:59 PM] Lego: personally
[8:25:04 PM] Lego: 18 maps = 3 boss themes
[8:25:11 PM | Edited 8:25:14 PM] Lego: 1/6 maps
[8:25:27 PM] Lego: That's how I would handle it
[8:25:55 PM] Ivory: Same. I would of done something along those lines too

On top of file-size concern, it would make the jam maps feel even more unified as opposed to the more loose feeling of every map featuring its own music. We could even share some unique victory fanfares and really make the mapping jam feel solid and unified as a whole.
