People haven't been saying it, but I'd bet that the general consensus would be for a weapon competition.

I'd love to see another mapping competition though. Last time there was a lot of quality and it's just going to go up as people get more experience.

That said, I voted for weapon.

Screenshots look great. Needs more of these actually. Show me some action shots. I know the levels are going to look good, but show me the perspectives from your ideal point of view; frame the shot.

Ahh, just saw this. Thanks for your response. I actually put my PS3 into a converter and recorded some output to get the shimmer tiles myself lol. Actually I just looked at it frame by frame and did the translations manually in The Gimp.


I was wondering, do you have tiles from any of the robot master stages from MM10? Or MM9? The endless tiles are so great that I'd love to play around with some stage concepts using those tilesets

Thanks a lot guys! Thanks to Cutman Mike for hosting this and everyone who worked hard for this competition.

I feel kind of bad because there was so much time and effort on a lot of people's part put into this. I hope you guys don't feel like your effort was wasted. I played every map myself and each one had some great merit to it.

Guys like Kapus especially have improved tremendously in their ability as a result of this! A lot of you guys deserved to win. I wish I could've been there myself to play with you guys.

A lot of the concepts were borrowed from a mix of Cutman Mike's ideas and ideas from Doom/ Heretic/ Hexen. I didn't just come up with the ideas myself! We should all be thankful to CMM and everyone who participated in this.

I'm really confused about the process of playtesting

I'd like Myroc to take my spot. I've chosen him because he knows what goes into the map making process and uses deathmatch as his primary criterion to evaluate maps.

Yeah, Shade explained it pretty well. The idea before I had was to put DECORATE actors in the bushes and they had pain to certain attacks. But doing so would make it ineligible for the mapping competition since no custom actors were allowed. I may revisit this at some point, we'll see.

Given how much an issue getting something as simple as music happening in these maps has been though, I don't really feel confident in submitting any sort of custom DECORATE to this pack because it will likely end up with more compatibility problems than I care to deal with.
