Hey Beed

Why do you have to release your maps separately from the pack? Can't you just submit to Messatsu and wait for the actual release like everyone else who contributes?

It's not much of a 'community map pack' if you're starting to manage your contributions separately.

I'd encourage you to consider releasing your own pack if you don't want to adhere to the community standard.

If everyone started doing what you just did, it would be a disaster to manage and locate all the individual pwads

There seems to be a couple of problems with this.

The first most obvious one is that your MTank replacement doesn't take into consideration special game modes where it shouldn't appear. This leads to incompatibility problems.

The force beam gun also has potentially incompatible behavior on clipping floor textures like water or snow.

I may consider changing it later but probably not. I may even reduce the number of awarded items instead of increasing it as well.

People seem to really like this Eddie thing with CTF at the moment. I might end up using the Duel list for DM as well, but we'll see given more playtesting. Another thing people have been suggesting is to keep the random weapon generator somehow. I may end up using Reggae for this, since the Eddie internal stuff for spawning weapons is left intact.

To answer your question I suggest doing the ?box mode and this on either CTF or DM mode. The order matters, so load ?box mode first then the Eddie replacement if you want the ?boxes and then Eddie to be actual Eddie instead of a red ?box.

What is it?

This replacement for Eddie makes it so Eddie drops items instead of random weapons. It was born from an observation when playing MM10 on the way Eddie worked there.

Simply load the wad in the launcher.

You can add this to any other wad you like and it will replace only Eddie.

Do you mean for completing the challenges?

If so, then yes. You can choose buckshot or use your buster only with items.

If you mean to change the map to buster only but keep the Eddies then I'll have to think about it. In the classic SHOOT you get a super shotgun. Blizzard Attack to me seems like the closest approximation of this. What I may do is make more themed SHOOT maps with different weapon sets instead. This challenge stands as it is though.

This is really great, thanks CopShowGuy.

Did you ever notice on the ice blocks in game there's like an animated 'shimmer'? I might just not be seeing it in the tile sheet but some approximation at doing this would look amazing in MM8BDM. Are there tiles for this effect or does it set some translation internally?

EDIT: Here's a video example of the 'shimmer' effect on the ice at the very  beginning of this video
