I'm really starting to think we may want someone on secondary healing, I can heal some but not all of his big single target attacks. Play Soothing Melody.
Man I really wish I could get a decent turn to try setting up protect.

After thinking about it, I'll just Play Soothing Melody. We're going to have to be more careful in this fight since the boss gets 1 attack at high speed and 1 at normal, and I want Hil on the ground before I start buffing.

Oh yeah, I heard DCSS updated to 0.14. I should try that again since I haven't in a few versions.

Some other roguelikes not on that list I've tried and liked were Dungeons of Dredmore and TOME4. Personally I like Dredmore's brand of humor and since Dredmore works by picking 7 ability trees for your character, I have fun just hitting the random button and seeing how well I do. Sometimes it works, other times it blows up horribly on floor 1. Meanwhile I also like TOME4's big selection of classes and races and the fact that it basically eliminated consumables, though since the campaign is so long it sometimes turns into a slog. Also both would be a decent jumping in point since both have ways to mitigate permadeath. In Dredmore, you can just turn it off and have normal saves if you want and in TOME4, there's a mode where your character gains lives as they level up and one with infinite lives for donators (if you buy it on Steam you automatically get the donator bonuses, and you can get TOME4 for free on the main site for it). Both also have really good modding support, both with and without Steam Workshop.

I've also played a couple of "roguelites" or "roguelike-likes" or whatever they're called and enjoyed them. Spelunky is a platformer that has a randomly generated layout each time and you start from scratch when you die, and Rogue Legacy is a platformer with rpg elements that persist through characters that has a different map every time you die also. One of my favorite games currently though, is FTL. In it you pick a ship (each of the 28 ships has a different layout, starting armament, starting crew and sometimes unique aspects) and get a randomly generated map of points to jump to, and each point has a random encounter based on the sector you're in (and the order of sectors and map of what sectors you can access changes each playthrough). The point of the game is to upgrade your ship and weapons as much as possible for the boss at the end of sector 8 while being on the run from the Rebel fleet. If you end up in a Rebel fleet controlled part of the sector you end up in a battle with a Rebel ship with the fleet taking potshots at you that do a large amount of damage when they hit and go through all shields. Also the only reward for those fights is a single unit of fuel. In a nutshell, you need to manage your health, position in terms of the Rebel fleet and exit beacon, ammunition, and scrap to reach the final boss in the best possible condition to fight it in.

As a final note, has anyone ever tried Elona? It seems interesting and I've heard hilarious stories of things that happened in the game.

Well holy ow. Let's try and bring everyone's HP back up a bit with another Soothing Melody. I think we should be fine unless he drops another jet on us or has another attack we haven't seen that will do around 200-220 on someone.

While I considered diving behind something to protect myself, I wouldn't be able to act the next round, and I'm also running low on MP, so I'll drink an Ether. I have a feeling this is going to hurt but I should be in a place to start mitigating some of the damage next round, unless this takes out my almost 400 hp in one swoop.

I'd love to reapply protect but if I do, it looks like I'd be gambling with Doc's and my life. Therefore I guess I'll Play Soothing Melody again. Worst case scenario Doc's Cura will top off the 50ish hp I'd be missing and best case scenario Blather's moves before Doc and he can heal the damage Blathers does.

Let's counter the AOE damage with some AOE healing. Play Soothing Melody.

Everybody's fine at this point so I guess I'll just hurl a grenade at Robot Blathers to try and help contribute.

I was wondering if Smash was going to switch in TGOT or not. Since he's in, I'll Play Guardian Song to hopefully soak up some damage.

He does have a large AOE attack but I'm still nervous that he has a trump card up his sleeve for large damage so I don't like Waruigi being at 150ish health. Play Soothing Melody.

One odd thing I've noticed playing as Aqua is that rarely, opponents apparently somehow take control of my water columns. I don't know how or why but in the middle of a firefight I've been damaged and killed by them and the obituary shows that a non-Aqua class killed me with a water column. The most recent example I can remember is a Bright somehow commandeering it and killing me with it.

Since both of the people switching in are coming in at low health (holy shit Hilman is coming in at 5 HP) I'm going to play my last Soothing Melody of the fight. My idea next turn was to swap Spike back in unless someone has a better idea of what to do.

I think I've delayed this enough seeing if Smash would do something else but to not hold it up any further, I'll Play Romeo's Ballad. Smash is the only one with any major damage and he's just going to heal himself apparently, so I'll save my MP and see if I can stun the windows.

Actually who still needs to switch in to the fight? The only ones I can think of are Waruigi and Hilman.

I'd like to possibly avoid another enemy multiattack barrage taking one of us out so I'll just continue to play healbot and Play Soothing Melody again.
Also guys watch it I've only got enough left to do 2 more melodies including this one.
