Mega Man Discussion / Re: Megaman Universe Canceled...........
« on: March 31, 2011, 11:16:05 PM »
Hmmm. Okay...
I could sometimes think that Capcom wanted to make Megaman Universe to annoy some classic Megaman/Rockman fans. They probably tried to confuse their minds, make them actually want to play it, and yet worst of all cancel it at the time they promised to release it at. But, that does sound like something they won't do.
Surely it was a game to grab some fans' interest. But I can find it understandable for them to cancel it.

If there EVER is a Mega Man 2 Powered Up (That's how I arrange the pieces, deal with it) , I won't be happy unless there's a WiiWare version.
It won't work. Since they got the first one for the PSP, and the Wii is really limited with memory when it comes with Stage Building and stuff.

Oh please, i have already seen so many April Fools jokes already on the internet. If it is a joke, then they will say "Lol Idiots, Its not canceled" on April 1st. I cant really tell if it is or not so I don't know.
Well, there is other reasons to cancel the game. But really, looking at what Capcom and Japan itself went through. I could see the reasons.

Bamboo Man looks really eh so I made this:

Compare. Top one is edited, bottom one is oirignal.
Similar edits should be done to its vertical counterpart.
Impressive job. Looks better then I did. I did tried to to make the vines look like bamboo, but failed from the shading.

You might want to hide some doghouses in the background for Dogman :)
Or park benches... That would be awesome :D
It would never work for his stage. That's the problem.

Meant to say this earlier, but it applies even more now...
NOW WE'RE COOKIN' WITH PIXELS!

-Dog-Man looks suspiciously similar to Mario.  Can't put my finger on it, it just kind of does.

-Diamond-Woman's crystals look like "flash" more than "glow," if ya know what I mean.  Background clashes with foreground, which is good (easy telling of what's ACTUALLY THE LEVEL) , but also bad (Cave stages are typically dark) .
Also, significance of "R6?"  Is it Dr. Regal's boss door symbol or something?

-Toilet-Man and Bamboo-Man look good for now.

-Assuming that's supposed to be a ladder on the right of the Cook-Man pic, that looks kinda awkward.  Needs fewer/thicker rungs.

-Everything else is A-OK.

Also, forgot to mention this earlier, but the new mugshots RAWKED MY SAWKS.
-I did got some inspiration from Super Mario World, and I based the FG to be like it. I could've recolored the tiles, but I pixelated to be close. Even the bushes/flowers are similar.

-I could've done it darker, but the way it is.  It kind of makes no sense. And I could've change the speed of it a bit.  That "R6" is Dr. Regal's logo.

-Thanks.

-It's a bit strange I admit. I rushed designing this stage.

-Kay.

Thanks. Though I think Chemical Man's still looks like crap.

It's amusing on how I meet him on the IRC channel of Cutstuff, and I did have a discussion with him in a query.
I was actually looking for way to contact him, and I was in pure luck to see he's at Cutstuff's IRC channel.
Not in the nest
Oh, kay thanks.

Also, which song from Doom 2?
Derpy Derp.

I believe it was d_bunker.mid (According to SLumpEd).

Say anything Gashisoft related again, and I will be officially rejecting the rest of the requests.

Also, why use RM7FC's horrid Slash Man rather than Baiisilisk's one? That's one more source of disgrace.
Lol, I'm sorry.

Well...I didn't really know it actually existed the time I used the RM7FC version in my fangame. I myself don't really see much of difference between theirs and Baiisilisk though.

It's just filter tracks for crying out loud. We won't hear them in the final version.

who did regal3.ogg, it completely ruins the 8-bit-esque feeling of the game

and because Mega Man never uses the MMC5 chip, MisterGambit's stuffs are all violations to what most of us think when the word 'NES' comes to our mind

by the way, why no tilesets

i am hertzdevil
Actually I liked a certain song in Doom 2 that I wanted to be remixed in real 8-Bit and be used in my actual fangame.
I admit I did used that "G" tool. I actually wanted to know what one of the Doom songs would sound like in that style. Most of Doom's music is Midi, and "G" tool can "lol convert" these files to crap 8-Bit. I'd send the Midi if someone can remake it in Famitracker.
Of course I won't use it though.

Well, he's likely to change that in future. The themes he gave me were merely prototypes. And it isn't in it's final form. It's part of his style too.

Would this answer your question?

-Sprites are the only type of graphics being shown the game. The reason being is to keep the space big and prevent a certain error. This will be fixed soon.

What little music I've heard in the game sounds great! Who wrote it?
If you checked the PleaseReadme.txt file which was included with the game itself. You'd see the credits.
No credits for individual tracks though.

Also, why no credit for KuroFox4444 i.e. KuroBit who made the engine?
Whoops, I forgot to credit him, I'll add him. Though I did most of the work modifying it.

Already sent the beta to you.

Quote from: "easyaspi"
Hey, is the private beta supposed to be iLivid video downloader? Cause you sent me a link to download that.
Never mind, I was a buffoon and downloaded an ad.
A'ight, so I start up the game, and it gives me this:
ERROR in
action number 3
of Trigger Event: <Deleted>
for object obj_musicplayer_boss:

Error defining an external function.
Something's wrong with the boss music.
If you slide and jump, you can get stuck sliding in the middle of a ladder.
As you can see here.
(click to show/hide)
On to it fixing it.

Yup. A private beta released. For those Beta Testers,  please check your notes/messages. The link to it should be there.

And also...

NEW CHALLENGER! Her name is Burrow Woman.
The sprite may be crappy, but you get the idea of what she looks like.

Might be cool to give her a shovel on her back.
I dunno why, But its just a thought that occured to me.
She's supposely based on the Burrowbot enemy from Sonic 1 (Which is founded at Labyrinth Zone and Lost Labyrinth Zone from Sonic 4).
