MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Archived Older Versions of MM8BDM
« Last post by agbvader on January 04, 2023, 11:16:42 PM »
I have every version but I remove them from my site to avoid confusion with new players. Is there anything in particular in the v4 build you're after?
if you still have the older versions, i'd like to check those out mainly to see how far the game has come from v1 onward. are you willing to do that?

It makes a few graphical changes to Gamma MK2 and Evil Robot, mostly adding cyan auras to Gamma's fists on the uppercut and recoloring Evil Robot on various frames.

So uhh.. Yeah. It's a junk yard/resource dump. :Y

Good question random person.

A bunch of portraits (With the Rockman 7 & 8 FC portraits their 8-Bit Deathmatch portrait colors & a bunch being demade from Wily Wars for shits and giggles along with an alternate Duo mugshot. Also included is 8 GBAs for anybody that ports all 8 of the exclusive deathmatch maps that were seen in the GBA Port of Doom 1. Save the Famicom Controller styled GBA for GBADM8.), Super Mario World underground sprites for mapping (based on the Hummer Team NES Port no less.) and it's background to make a skybox, Lava from Somari's take on Marble Zone recolored into Nukage, a bunch of map title cards (including a scary one, one designed for Quickman's level, and one for a little somethin, somethin.), and a teomplate of the title card so you can add your own border to it.

Without further ado...

here ya go.

MM8BDM HyperFighting

So what the hell is this?  On a basic level this is a mod that attempts to revamp many elements of classic gameplay to speed it up and give it more overall fluidity.  I felt the vanilla gameplay experience was lacking in some what, and this is my attempt to try to add some kick things up a notch!

Features:
Armor - Small armor pickups are added to every map automatically.  Reduces damage taken and provides the ability to prepare for battle!
Movement - Players have a higher jump and faster movement speed.  In addition, the new slide ability lets you evade attacks at the last moment or make a full speed jump.
Weapons - Nearly every weapon has been tweaked in some way to increase the speed, damage or receive a complete overhaul to give it a unique role.  Spam style items and weapons are also toned down.
Shields - Shields are now swappable.  Want to regenerate with Plant Barrier on the offense? You can! Want to absolutely wreck opponents with Star Crash and Fire Storm?  You're a monster, but have at it!
Auto Swap Empty Weapons - With this option enabled, when you deplete a weapon, you'll swap to the next weapon in the same category (if available)
Energy Balancer - All players start with the Energy Balancer by default!  The item is replaced with new Energy Saver which cuts your special weapon ammo consumption by half! (Or doubles your ammo....same thing)
Customizable pickup icons - Weapon energy and health icons can now be changed to any style from MM1-MM8, or just be based on whatever game your playing! (Plus a few extras!)

There's also bug fixes, item changes, balance tweaks and more!

Constructive feedback is welcome!

Colour my surprise when going through memory lane, I find an old post I made as the most recent reply for a section on this forum. I doubt many people still check it out, so I think I will actually use this time to air out something that's been on my mind recently.

That... actually felt way better to put into words than I thought. Huh, thank you past me for making this random post as a stupid teenager, I don't think you ever realised how much it could help you down the line.

MM8BDM Discussion / V6 is very impressive
« Last post by Magikarp on December 08, 2022, 01:15:43 AM »
been a while since i've posted here, been even longer since i've played. i can't say i know the version i last touched the campaign on but it didn't have nearly as much polish or depth as it does now and i was very pleasantly surprised by everything that went into it.

the forums are much quieter than they were in my heyday and i haven't really been part of the community for a long time, but i do wanna pop in here and say that all of the time, effort, and love that the dev team has put into this game over the years really, really shows in v6. i'm in a really weird stage of my life where nothing quite makes sense, and i've been revisiting a lot of games i haven't played in a while. 8bdm came up during a conversation at one point so i decided to brave the fact that my internet hates loading the cutstuff domain and reinstalled it, booted it up, set up my controls and proceeded to blast through most of the easy mode campaign in one sitting.

for a lack of better words, holy shit. this is not the tcm i played all those years ago. it's really grown into its own and i adore the narrative that the team has crafted for it. it's exciting and purposeful in the story it wants to tell while still remembering the camp and levity inherent to mega man as a franchise. it feels like a love letter in the best possible way. i wish i could show this to the tiny baby version of myself that signed up to the forums 10 or so years ago when i was still religiously into the series.

i won't get any mushier than that but i figured i'd dust off my account and leave some words of appreciation. v6 was like revisiting an old friend and it's been a much needed source of familiarity for me as of late. good job!

Skins & Bots etc / Re: Cartoon Network Characters as MM8BDM Skins.

I might try taking a stab at doing a Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes to toss a wrench into the mix.
That's Not Made in Cartoon Network, Sorry.
