8bdm v1b doesn't won't start up. :C

If I try to start up 8bdm, it says it can't create a new screen. v1a worked just fine for me. Also, I apologize if this more belongs under the bugs/suggestions forum, but I wasn't sure.

It cant create a new screen? That's a new one. Can I see a screenshot?

Update your graphics card drivers or play in software.

I've had this problem on my laptop when trying to play another game (Stepmania) in opengl.

So how do you play in software?
