okay, so i havent had any trouble doing this with the mm8bdm.pk3 file, but when i replace a song in the roboenza .wad, i get an error joining networks saying i need to have the exact same .wad as the server.
i think i get the problem: the .wad isn't being edited it's the pk3, so everything else runs fine, but the .wad gets messy if you change something?
is there a way to get around this with the pk3?

okay so i did some tests. it seemed a non modded roboenza wad won't play in the same folder with the modded .pk3, BUT, it works if i use the non-modded version in my original folder. i thought maybe it automatically chose the original pk3 file because it's in the same folder, but the songs i put in the modded one (which i was running) still played. is there something in your MM8BDM folder than can muck up a .wad?
edit:
started a new directory, fresh folder from the .zip file, game wouldn't load roboenza mode either.
edit edit: changed the music in my original roboenza file, works fine. wtf
