That's a tough one.

Honestly, I have no idea why the community is typically so young.
It is a mix of Doom (Came out a very long time ago) and Classic Mega Man (Its heyday was a long time ago).

It makes sense that old fogys like me would be here, but there aren't many of us.

Perhaps the nature of Freeware is the cause.
Young people seem much more inclined to trying new things that aren't part of an easy console package.
