Remember, you're talking to someone who's only beaten approximately two Mega Man games. I suck at them. Is this game worth buying for someone who sucks at them but still likes them?

But Easy Mode is for wimps! I don't even play MM9 on imaginary Easy Mode!
Then again, that game's pretty easy to me now.

I kinda really love MM10, like, a lot.

In fact, shamelessly plugging here, I wrote the one and only walkthrough for the game (as far as I know) on the internet.  I just... really love it!

I think it's overall about as good as, if not slightly better than, 9; MM2, 3, 9, and 10 are all the "crown jewels" of the classic Mega Man franchise, in my opinion.  9 has more classic nostalgia what with the sounds and songs ripped straight from Mega Man 2 and the style of the music and everything much more classic, whereas 10 has a bit more flair; a lot of people hate move the music at first but grow into it--a lot of it doesn't sound that Mega Man-like but in fact each boss's theme was composed by a different composer from the classic Mega Man games.  And of course you have all the difficulties and two characters from the get-go, with even more and more modes as DLC to keep you playing.   It's great, really fun, lots to do, and a good challenge.  Less cheaply challenging than 9's plethora of instant-death traps and it's much cheaper and easier to buy loads of Beat Calls and Shock Guards to keep yourself form dying in 1 hit anywhere in 10,, but the outright challenge of  enemies and bosses mixed with less overpowered Master Weapons than 9 means that it's got more *fair* challenge.

And yes, Bass DLC is worth it.  I'd say all 3 special stages and Bass are the best DLC for the game.

I'd pay 60 bucks if it was retailed.

If it came with a cover with classic artwork and an instruction booklet shaped like the NES ones. In fact, that would be friggin sweet! But yeah, under 20 dollars (including DLC) for a good game that will last you is really good. Also, this game is on par (if not easier) than MM9, but you do get to unlock hard mode this time (no need to buy it this time round).

While MM9's music sounded more "fresh" and more MM-like, the music in MM10 is still really good (esp when you get to the Wily stages!). There's also a fair bit of nostalgia too. My fave track has to be Wily stage 2!

-Spoiler on music-

Bass is a fast character. He's the perfect character if you want to rush and kill all enemies as quickly as possible. Definitely for fast players.

The three bonus stages (i never played the Gameboy games but I loved these stages) are worth the download as well, and are quite challenging.

Finally, for some endless fun (or fury, lol) there's the Endless Attack mode which I think is pretty fun (and comes with an awesome 8 bit techno track, lol).

I could probably talk more on it, about what else I like but it might spoil a bit. But yes, any MM fan should not miss out on this one, as this game not only has probably the longest MM soundtrack ever, but the highest replay-ability as well. ENJOY!

If you like Megaman 1-6, get it. What are you waiting for??  :p

I would happily pay full game price for any megaman game that comes out in this 8-bit style.

I just downloaded the game recently and was using that guide to figure out the special stages.  So, thank you.

I also thought the game was worth the price.  Double, even, though that's deceptive because it's not like you don't pay more if you want the special stages and Bass Mode.  I haven't tried Endless Attack, yet.  Bass is fun to use.  Those special stages felt like such an accomplishment to get through, aside from the boss of 3 if you have the weapon from 2.  I was a little disappointed that Bass and Proto Man don't get to use the special stage weapons, but they also give me incentive to use Mega Man more often.

I was waiting until I had done everything in Mega Man 9, but then I saw this thread and got impatient.  If someone ever asked for a recommendation I think I would say 10 over 9, though I still really like that game.

When I first bought Bass mode I grew onto that insane quantum leap ability of his and finished the game with him around roughly 1:50, then I went to go play the game with him again on Hard and forget completely how to even control Bass...it was the strangest thing in the world.

I think it was completely worth it. Though I still wish Capcom would add a bit more to the Mega Man formula to keep the series fresh, or take the "Mega Man 7 route" and update the graphics and change some of the gameplay mechanics. Hopefully, Mega Man 11 will bring something new to the party.
