Need help please (crashing issues)

I was playing MM8BDM again, and for the second time it crashed on Crystal Man's stage. It's odd, I play it for a few seconds and it crashes.

Could this be an issue with skulltag, or is my computer that old?
It tends to lag a fair bit, and I think it gets to the point where it just gives up.

Any feedback would be thankful, cheers!

I'll tell you what: MM8BDM uses an unstable version of Skulltag, plus the custom script. Apparently, it can possibly happen if you have external programs making noise.

Ahh right, I noticed it lagged with my web browser open so I closed it. As for when I played Crystal Man's stage, I only had MSN open. I wonder if that was enough to set it off? Certain stages lag more than others (Wave Man lags in certain areas) but Crystal Man's stage specifically decided to conk out.

I hope I get it working, and if I have to download a patch, I hope I can keep my saved file (I'm so close to clocking it! lol).

Nope, definetely not that. When I played in a "silent day" (no one talked to me in Trillian or MSN), it didn't crash. And know what's funny? the stable skulltalks tend to work EVEN with all the "external" noise.

Also, software rendering + skulltag + MSN notification + trillian notifications = shit brix.

And I can't use hardware rendering because my GC is onboard.

I sure hope it's MSN and not anything else.

I remember when I played Ice Man's stage, it used to lag, and when I closed other programs, it ran better.

Crystal Man's stage must have lagged so much that it decided to die on me. I sure hope closing MSN will help, and that it's not a skulltag error.

As for my drivers, they are really old on the PC I am playing on. If all else fails, I might have to switch PCs, but yeah, the game runs fine so far. It lags in certain small areas, and apart from this crash, it runs fine.
