Here's why I really want to be able to edit RM8FC llike RM7FC

Their current Astroman sprite...

There's even a way better one on their site!

I dunno, I like the top one better. It seems to get more details out of its pixels, and the yellow colors doesn't look good mashed with the green and blue. (and his head thingy is a more distinct shape)

The bottom one probably matches the actual MM8 art closer, but a bunch of the Robot Master's NES sprites have different looks from the art (usually they are missing small details, which would not translate onto the sprite well).

For example, Hard Man's sprite does not have any red, yellow, or green, and he's not even the right color of blue. His feet are gray like his hands, you can't see the little spaces in his mid-section and there's no arrow below his Treasure Troll gem. Strangely enough, Hard Man has some added details in his sprite that is not in the art, things I can only assume are rivets, which look awesome.

Oh dear...that new Astro Man sprite looks...cute...but looks almost nothing like Astro Man...
Oh, and also something sort of off topic; am I the only person who dislikes R8FC more than the original? There's so many pointless difficulty spikes that it's frustrating. I can't beat Search Man here without using 2 E-tanks!

I loved the original, but RM8FC is underwhelming. I dunno, it just doesn't feel the same.

Though it would help a lot if I could make the window bigger like in RM7FC

RM8FC is generally fun, but I've never actually been a big fan of MM8 anyway.  I find it's just too gimmicky.  It seems like there are very few normal stages.  I hate playing Frost Man's stage because I don't like the snowboard part (which comprises pretty much the entire level), and I have yet to finish Wily 1 because of the snowboard.  I also agree regarding Search Man.  He is pretty ridiculous in this version.

The gimmickness in MM8 did annoy me a bit. Although I like the JUMP JUMP and FLY FLY and a few other things in the game, it took up almost all of the wily stages, which just isn't good. Some of the voice acting could have been improved, or at least have been made less annoying, CLOWNMAN but I've never been annoyed too much by that.

I think the thing that's been stopping me from playing RM8FC is the lack of screen size. Isn't there any way at all to make the window bigger like RM7FC?

There should be a config.exe or something like that.  I play it at 2x, and I think it can go up to 4x (and maybe even full screen?).

Nope, nothing. There's something that swaps z and x but I don't need that.

Do you have the latest version?  3.12b is the most recent one released right now.

*upgrades from 3.10 to the latest one*

Nope, still the same. The Config_GUI (dr. light icon) is just a box filled with white

That's weird.  Config_GUI loads up a window with options in it for me, including a whole bunch of screen size options, from 256x224 all the way up to 1280x1120, and what looks like a full screen option.

I don't know what else to tell you.  Sorry. :(

There's a file in the folder that just says "config" (it's NOT the Dr.Light icon OR the one that says "keyConfig").  Double-click on that, and just click "n" if you don't want to switch the z/x buttons.  The next question will tell you what screen size you can choose.  Choose it, answer the third question (that has to do with v-sync...just click "y") and you're all set!!!

Alright, what the heck!  I try to use Joy2Key with this game, I assign the buttons correctly, but when I play the game the buttons suddenly screw up!  Plus the game has considerable slow down when you choose a bigger screen.  I certainly hope they fix this next update.

Ah wait!  I simply downloaded the 2.91 beta version (the only one that HAS an image file!) and it works good with Joy2Key!  Though there's still that slowdown when you increase the screen size, but I'm not really worried about that.

Will play through it, and toy around with the images.  THIS is the final version for me.  ^^

Thanks! That's worked! But....now I have another problem. One that sometimes happened before.

None of my buttons are working. Why? Apart from Q, which exists the game >_<

It does that to me too.  Try going through the config file and choose "n" instead of "y" for the v-sync.
