Happy Birthday Doom!
« on: December 10, 2010, 02:58:26 PM »
December 10th again, huh?

17 years have passed since Doom was first released on December 10, 1993. Despite its age, it's still better than most FPS' these days. You have my favorite game since I was 5, and you are still my favorite game today.

Having had been alive for all those 17(+) years, and playing since an early age. I am proud to say, "Happy Birthday, DOOM!"

Here here! *raises glass of caco blood* To a relic that will never be forgotten, thanks to the many modders out there displaying it in such unique and awesome ways. I don't just mean full fledged mods like MM8BDM either. Even standard vanilla maps are helping keep the beast alive, and I sit down with this old bean any day to fight off the same old demons I was fighting off on my PSX years ago.

The cacowards aren't up yet, but if you want to see what fine examples of doom modding exist out there, this page will highligh the best this year! I always use it to catch up on hidden gems I missed

You know I don't even like normal doom but the only thing keeping it alive is all these mods... which is a good thing, mind.

Someone needs to start a massive community 32 map Deathmatch WAD for it's 20th (It'll take a few years to make).

Wow. *claps* I really can't argue with that review at all. MM8BDM is indeed, one of the best projects I could have seen. And we never would be here if it weren't for Doom, either.

Ever since buying this book in April 1995 I haven't looked back!

The only thing better than DOOM is the engine which it is based on... so many possibilities and it's so great to see it alive and well in 2010. Still no sector above sector though; otherwise it wouldn't be DOOM!

I'd like to hear you say 'cacowards' without it sounding exactly like 'cock awards'!
