A question about the in-game music.
« on: December 27, 2010, 10:52:02 PM »
Well, I'll get right to the point. Is there a way to change the "desperation" song for Roboenza? Like, im tired of "NOHOPE" replacing what im listening to. Is there a way to change that for something else? Thank you.

PS: Sorry if its the wrong section. But I think it has something related to edit the wads, so..

Or you could rename NOHOPE to anything. For example: NTYMUS

Ingame this would do "Could not find: "NOHOPE"" so it wouldn't change what you're listening to.

Or you could just make a new wad with a lump named NOHOPE(which would be the song you want) and add the wad at launch.

I tried this and it doesn't quite work.  It still plays NOHOPE from roboenza but there's a simple work around.

1.) Open up Roboenza wad and rename NOHOPE to NOHOPE2 (or anything else that's valid)
2.) Create a new WAD using Slumped or XWE and put in a song and call it NOHOPE and put the resulting WAD in your skins folder.

Since ACS calls the song NOHOPE it will pull from the (now) only available source, the new WAD you created.

Example of my music file - Forest theme from Megaman ZX (DS version, not ZX tunes) - put in skins folder
My MODIFIED Roboenza-2.wad file - nohope renamed to NOHOPE2

I used XWE to rename NOHOPE and that was it.  As long as you don't modify anything else it shouldn't cause that error.

you forgot the CODE that goes into the music. Examine the old Nohope and copy the script in it before "overwriting" it.

I use XWE to replace it. Use that, and make sure that the settings aren't set to clean up after exit or rename lumps or anything that could possible interfere. Otherwise, it will mess everything up.

Because of the new forums to keep the editing thread organized, dozens of threads got moved about. Keep an eye out on the dates because some threads got pushed up to the top despite being irrelevant.

Yeah, that's the first thing that came to mind. Doesn't help much that the date text is tiny, it's kind of out of the way. :|

In anycase, I'll be more careful.
