Just downloaded, I really need some help

I found the game only a few days ago, and of course I'm blown away by how awesome and how much fun it is.

However,I have a few questions that I've spent literally hours searching for and can't find the problem.

1. Some servers say "make sure you are using the exact same wads" and wont let me join. But I downloaded the newest release and have no idea what the hell i need to do.

2. How can I play as Helmetless Mega Man or Break Man?

That's all for now, but please help me out here, I would be forever grateful. I'm kind of OCD about things and until I solve these problems it's going to drive me crazy. I really have looked all over the site and tried google, but to no avail so this is my last shot. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Cutstuff

1) The servers are probably hosting additional content, such as Roboenza, additional mappacks. You'll need to download the packs.

2) I'm not entirely sure where those skins are located. Try running or a search or digging through the editing thread.

Those skins can be found on the User Created Skins page of the MM8BDM Wiki. Download links are there. To use them, put them into a sub folder of the folder that holds MM8BDM called "Skins", minus thr quotations. It cannot be called anything else! Then open up the game and you shoukd be able to use your skins! Hope this helped.

1 more thing, I downloaded I-Pack to hopefully fix the wad thingy, what directory should I put it in?

Just place in the root directory for MM8BDM. If your using Doomseeker, it should auto load if your file paths are set right. I don't use the MM8BDM launcher at all so I can't help you there.

I THINK playing as Break Man or Helmetless is something like skin protoman-breakman and megaman-helmetless or something like that.

These Servers use as you guessed Special Wads for Special Maps/Gamemodes. In this moment, i guess you will just need the roboenza.wad and the Ivory Pack, there arent many servers using special Wads i guess, only Deathwinds LMS and DM Server. You can get the Roboenza File from the Homepage of Cutstuff. The Ivory Pack is at the Top of the Homepage as well.

2. How can I play as Helmetless Mega Man or Break Man?

Those Skins you see are Custom Skins. They have to be added into the Game and can be found here.There are also many Skins, but most Skins cant be seen if you dont add them into the Game, so much Players wil be seen as Megaman.
If you search another Skin, try out This Topic, there are much Skins, more than you need i guess.
Tipp: If you put the Skins in a "skin" folder in your MM8BDM Folder, you mustnt ever add the skins single. Or (Like the others said) you can unlock them in the Console Ingame. type in "Skin Protoman-Break" or "Skin Megaman-Hair". But you can unlock 3 Other Skins. type in Skin Wilyskullsuit, Alien and Auto.

not of your business! xDThere are "many" Threads which missed the Topic. After all it is just Important that Guy get the Help. I dont want to say Peoples can put their Threads everywhere, but its senseless to teach them that, it will never change.

I'm not saying that to bother people. I like it when people get help.
But mod's can move threads to where they belong as far as i know.
Eventually that way everyone can learn where to place what.
