What do you think about Rockman EXE serie?
« on: February 26, 2011, 01:37:45 AM »
EXE it was 6 games but exe 4>6 had 3 differents versions with differents soul/transformations and story; Exe 3 Blue or white are the same for me....

9 games but

2 games on Iphone, 2 arcades machines (i want one!), 2 games on wonderswan color, battlechip challenge, Network transmission on gamecube, Rockman EXE OSS (but i dont like); if i remember all.

There is Dble team DS but it's the same as EXE 5 proto/colonel.

Oh yeah, my favorite arcade is the BC stadium:
http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/m ... 7350.html#

EXE was ~20 games with 4-5 years, Classic didnt do better, hehe....

And a lot of goodies, musics for, anime of 200 episodes, game mode for GBA with adaptator, toys.....

For me,with 4 YEARS,  EXE is epic win  :D

I dont know why Pokemon is so loved...it's so a simple game (casual)....

EXE wasn't THAT good. It strayed too far from the style we are used to and random battles can become weary when you need one chip to defeat every enemy. The ONLY Battle Network games I really liked were WS, Network Transmission and Battlechip Challenge, because those are HARDLY boring.

I finished exe 4, 5 and 6 at 100%
Not so hard but long.

There is a program who is "Collect" to have a battlechip after every battle, it's very good to finish the game or with 100%. (but there isnt in exe 1-2)
I dont like a lot exe 1-3, but when you use the soul unison, its like a dream; Rockman with a Robotmaster.EXE? Yeah!

And a lot of musics are really epics in the anime or the games!
The one where Forte (bass) destroy Slur is epic:

The most epic moment for me was:

Darn, I still need to play MMBN 6!

Anyway, so far, MMBN is great!
It is certainly not perfect, however.
4 was just plain awful.
5, while much better, still got repetitive.

All in all, they introduced a unique style of RPG which is intoxicating.
Certainly not perfect, though.

1: 6!!!
2: 5
3: 4
4: 3
5: 2
6: 1

MMBN is awesome; love the battle system, the character designs, and the muzak.

Some games in the series I definitely liked better than others (2 is still my fave). HOWEVER, it did have some glaring flaws that I wish were remedied.

If they ever, 500 years from now, make another MMBN, this is what I'd suggest:

-Balanced Chip Set/Everything for Competitive Play: Just like any RPG, MMBN is about gaining new powers and becoming stronger and stronger. In the end, you get chips that freeze time and flood the screen with tons of nearly-inescapable projectiles. Which is cool and all, except that kind of junk is no fun for human-vs-human play (unless you truly have to set it up somehow).

The ideal solution would be to have the versus have rule sets like the Pokemon games now do. Free Battle would be just like the classic battle mode, with nothing changed. But a Tourney Mode would disallow overpowered chips (not let you use the folder if you have them in it), give a standard HP to both sides, and maybe do something similar for the Navi Customizer (that should probably just be balanced in the first place).

-Online Play: Can you believe a game called Mega Man Battle Network does not have online play? Considering it all took place on the GBA, I guess it's not all that surprising. However, when the DS got released they switched to Starforce, and eventually got Online Multiplayer added in 2 and 3. As neat as that was, Battle Network is pretty different from Starforce, and I'd wager there's a lot more BN fans who would jump at the chance to battle online. Furthermore, hopefully there'd be balance fixes as mentioned above because Starforce's online play was both laggy and lop-sided, with crazy armored Mega Mans shooting off super rad chips.

-Let You Play as Other Navis: This is basically just the old request of wanting to play as Robot Masters. Which BN actually did let you do, in many different ways on certain titles. What it never let you do though (as far as I know) is battle OTHER people with different navis. Which seems like something you'd want to do, cuz fighting Mega Man vs Mega Man for every multiplayer battle is kinda dumb.

-----

Basically, new multiplayer-focused MMBN would be rad.

Me and my brother have been hoping for a MMO battle network game actually :D

But seeing as the company is Capcom... I dont think they will make a MMO game.
Though they are still the best gaming company ever in my oppinion. I'd love to see a MMBN MMO game :D

I think, Nintendo (fanatic) maniac are really ridiculous with Pokemons, a lot of pokemon or nintendofans think Pokemon is better than EXE, but if we see with 4 years, what is the serie who was the most number of games? =)

I finished Pokemon Red at 100%, it was really boring after because it was just casual and basic (but yes, there is a little tactic, so lame).

Pokemon black/white is maybe different but before, it really sucked...2 versions as Rockman EXE 3 blue/White/black, its the same games!!

RockmanEXE 4 > 6, it was a lot of transformations/actions for each game. Exe 4 redsun is really different than blue moon, its the same thing for exe 5 and exe 6.

Pokemon " attack charge, defense, special attack 2 or 3".

I hate Pokemon because it's the worst commercial thing i have seen...
RockmanEXE was commercial too, but the P.E.T, battlechips and others wasnt lame.

I never understand why there a lot so much haters of the EXE serie...i was a haters in the beginning but just because i never played the game ;)

And yeah, a MMO Battle Network can be awesome, "EXE Battle Stadium"! Exemple, all the operators of a navi connected in a Colloseum, it can be awesome....but maybe just a dream...^^;

Will you stop comparing Pokemon to Battle Network? They aren't even remotely similar in gameplay. Your arguments are essentially "I hate pokemon" and "I like battle network".

It's like comparing Call of Duty to Deus Ex. They are both of the same genre, but they aren't even remotely similar in gameplay.
