On the note of muting, I doubt that'll get through to them.  I'm fairly sure OJ is well aware of this option, but he either has a grudge for something-or-another...or he's just a fucking idiot.  Which I doubt.

[...]pretty much the only person I saw receiving hate from the "Cutforce" so far is ME. So yeah. If there's someone else, I'd like to know. >_>

Presuming you always go by Flandre, at least three people.  Myroc even tested the CutForce by entering with an RP'ing name...with no intention of the sort...and was kicked upon arrival.

im with u chaos i agree with u every step of the way and id like to suport ya :D

...
Care to elaborate on what you agree with?  That the argument is stupid, that an RP'ing forum would solve everything...what?

RPrs have to remember that they were kicked by the majority. The majority may be biased and nonsensical, but damn, they're the majority. The RPrs should host their own servers where they feel "safe".

I don't know much about roleplaying, but does me masquerading as Kung-Fu Cutman of Team Rocket count as roleplaying?

FINALLY. I was beginning to wonder why this topic didn't exist beforehand.

I wholeheartedly agree with the need for RP separation, and personally, I think that both can be implemented. An RP subforum could be put under the "Anything Goes" forum, and if RPers want to gather games together, they can start their own servers and have planning threads in Anything Goes.

This way, the RPers *coughFLANcough* can have fun without being cut into paper dolls votekicked or trolled, and the Mega Busters *coughYDcough* can keep on a-bustin' without having their chat box flooded.

Personally, as an RPer myself (albeit not through Deathmatch), I can see the standpoints both sides bring to the table. I enjoy having a little RP fun now and then, but that's on a different site, and with other RPers. I don't want RPing in my 8-bit FPS. When I play my 8-bit FPS, I want people to explode when I Charge Kick their Crash Bombs!

So, while RPing in a Mega Man 3D FPS setting is fun for some, I prefer my fragging and teabagging to come without it. SEPARATE PLZ.

IMO, RPers and NRPers should get along. Anyone against it should be promptly kicked off and possibly banned for troll behavior.

EXCEPT if the condition is of them "speaking" more than playing, which tends to be only trolls doing their "job" as far as I've witnessed.

Hosting a server is NOT easy. The Skulltag we are "forced" to use is always an unstable, ISP may fluctuate connection speed greatly, distance can and will hinder HEAVILY a player's movement.

We are a COMMUNITY, not political groups fighting to get their spot above everyone. Either we work together or do nothing at all. 'Cause going against will only bring harm and delay.

Also, I've seen often RPers doing a better job at team work. Which, is in fact, what they know the MOST. as for NRPers? They either go "lone wolf" or troll around.

I will do this under the following conditions:

1. At least 10 people are willing to join this new forum (a list of people explaining why they want it should be sufficient).
2. A group leader can be chosen to maintain the forum, add new users to the group etc.
3. Not expect me to sort things out (drama/leaked server passwords etc)

The forum would of course be private to the users of this new group (otherwise it doesn't make sense to bother making it).

I believe I have a unique perspective on this whole ordeal, since I was there when OJ was telling the duel scene about NRP and related asshattery.

Personally, I'm perfectly fine with RP. Heck, I had buckets of fun with it on ye olden Chaotic forums. However, I dislike it when RPers hijack a server with players in it and start spamming up the chatbox. It is very distracting to the people who are playing as intended, and when I see such behavior I try to convince those responsible to find an empty server to dick around in or start their own.

I would also appreciate a forum dedicated to RP threads and server planning, and would volunteer to lock/trash trolling and drama when nessescary.

Eh-Hem...

I would be more than willing to moderate it myself, as I am an experienced role-player myself--although I don't get to role-play as much as I'd like.

Not only am I willing to be in this group, I'm willing to manage it and look for new possible members.

Counting Kapus, Flan (Presumed) , and Me, that's three people.  With the CutForce's leader gone, the war here is pretty much over, but an RP forum is still something I'd really like to see.

I might as well say my opinions on this here.

I LOATHE about 99% of role-playing.  Usually, it ends up with two people saying sexual stuff to each others and gets incredibly awkward.

HOWEVER, they still have the right to do it.  I'm not going to attack them every time I see it, and people who do attack them are just as annoying as the RPing itself.  I just wish people would keep it in their own servers.

OOOH politics.

I am a lousy RPer, I tried it a couple times and got bored.
That being said I do like to watch the occasional game. especially if it is an interesting subject.

anyway, I kinda agee that Roleplaying should stick to a dedicated server, I never had any issues with the "clogging up the chatbox" bit though. (Perhaps because I mostly play singleplayer doom mods and I don't experience it enough.) rather, I think that the roleplayers are idiots for trying to play in an area where it is easy to get a metalblade to the face randomly.

Just my opinion, don't take it too seriously
-bob.

Honestly, this is a quick enough fix.
Role players should host their own servers to role play.
It isn't that difficult.
Provided that they do this, the cutforce (and anyone else who doesn't like their games) should leave them alone.

Why is this an issue?
