"You're the Inspiration"

What was your reason for getting an account on cutstuff, and/or what threads seemed fun to join in on?
My inspiration was oddly enough, the most notorious thread on this forum. It looked like everyone knew each other and had fun on that forum, so I made an account!

I started playing MM8BDM mid November. I didn't have any reason to not join the forum, actually. I wanted to become a part of the community and post screenshots, make suggestions, contribute skins, maps and general spritework, etc. The community was nice and welcoming at the time (although I think it has gone a bit downhill since I joined) so I had an easy time fitting in.
I got my wish. I have contributed at least 35 skins to the community as well as various spritework and one WIP map.

Way back before MM8BDM was even an alpha, I got an account on cutstuff because CutmanMike was a pretty cool guy and the Cutstuff community was far more mature then the Skulltag Community. Also Ghouls vs Humans.

I 1st started around October 2010 and played for a while. That was when wads and whatnot wasn't as prominent compared to today. As I played on more, I found some new friends. As I found more friends and connections, that was when I could not put off NOT havin' an account. My first topic reply was to Ashley's "The Unofficial Top-25 Players List". I'd say that was the topic that spawned all the competitiveness and the tournaments as well. After that DTD's tournament took off and finished later. Right after that was when I founded the
Adopt-a-Noob Program
. This community listens to input a lot more frequent than a LOT of other communities I've seen so far, so I stuck around throwin' my thoughts everywhere. Durin' that time was when Unfaded was found, then the teams tournament went around, and then the 1st duel tournament came around.
Guess that sums up the early times of me and my time with Cutstuff.

I started playing online right after V1A came out.
When V1B came out, I was dissatisfied with a couple of changes (I remember Blizzard was changed), and I wanted to speak out.
I didn't do anything after that until a huge spike in private servers happened.
It was an issue I believe had to be addressed since I thought it could lead to the end of this game, or at the very least a complete end to new players, and I received a lot of positive feedback.
Shortly afterward, private servers became something of a rarity again.
I was so impressed that I posted more and more things.
Good thing too, because I really do like Cutstuff.
This is my first, and to date, my only forum.

Been lurking here since September when I saw a LP of GvH, went and downloaded it. Didn't really see any reason to join, I saw MM8BDM, got it on release day. I didn't start playing online till I was comftorable with everything in the game, so I joined online and this here forum in November.
I wouldn't call this my favorite forum, but it is quite a good one.

I was playing the game for a while.
Then I remembered the message board existed.
I mostly only joined just in case something breaks.

I was gonna get v1a, but CutmanMike said on the blog that the download link was down, so I just said forget it and I waited until v1c (I forgot about it for a while). I saw the forums in the v1a age but I decided not to make an account. It wasn't until v1c that I got one. I'm not really a map-maker or anything like that (though right now I doing trial-and-error on DoomBuilder), but I like to test stuff. =P

My inspiration was when I made Action Sack (Doom Mod). I realized that the skulltag community was (still is) full of trolls, and that the cutstuff community was full of cool people who respected each other. It still haunts me to this day that someone stole credit for making a supershotgun skin that I made and that I get no credit at all because I was still a new member.

Back when Ghoul Forest 3 was all the rage, I read the site address on a server message. I visited and the thread that immediately caught my attention was a Ghoul Forest 4 one, starring the Cyborg. After extensively thinking about an idea to contribute, I made my account and my first post there, though I never really made an introduction as I said it would be for another time which never came.
