Mega Man for Smash Bros. Topic

You know what I hate, PEOPLE WHO FREAKING SAY THAT MEGA MAN IS GONNA BE A CLONE OF SAMUS JUST BECAUSE OF THE MEGA BUSTER! I'm freaking sick and tired of it! People always say "Oh, if Mega Man gets into Smash, he's gonna be a Samus clone" NO HE'S FREAKING NOT! Mega Man only has one freaking move similar to Samus which can be slightly changed. First off, the Mega Buster could fire one bullet before it starts charging. Another thing is that Down-B could be made to change what regular B does. So if anyone who is reading this still thinks Mega Man will be a Samus clone GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS!

To be quite frank, I have never seen anybody say this.

I've seen a couple forum posts say it too. I guess most of the time, they say it either cuz they don't give a hoot about Mega Man or they're hoping for someone else to get the 3rd party slot.

@MLDKF: Maybe you're talking about something else, but Smash Saturday on the site is just another update day.

Most likely that person seems to be Amaterasu from Okami. While it kinda would be cool to see her in, I'd rather see Mega Man in Smash instead.

megaman seems like the most likely 3rd party character to be in smash. he actually could've been in brawl. i just hope he has his moveset from SSF2 A.K.A. super smash flash 2

I've seen a lot of solid evidence, at least US wise, that Mega Man is for sure the top wanted 3rd party character (and pretty high among most wanted characters overall). With Brawl, I was kinda wishing the same, but it was obvious Sonic had him beat.

Also, I need to check out SSF2 for this moveset!

Time to go back on topic.

I believe Mega Man having an ability to copy other weapons would be pretty appropriate.

Normal attacks should be just.. Ya know, kicks, punches, nothing special.

Side/up/down smash attacks.. Too hard to decide, with so many options in the classic series. I'd say side smash could just fire a projectile. A random one. They have different rarity and power. Can be Mega Buster (no knockback, just adds %), Metal Blade (slightly more damage, rips through the enemies), Needle Cannon, etc. One from each game in the series, with different effects. But to prevent spam, the limit of 3 on the screen would apply.

Neutral smash.. Yeah, that would have to be sort of copy ability. Maybe just a grabbing attack. You grab the opponent, then get his power (cartoon style, "Gimme five, Mustache Dood!"). Not necessarily the same as the opponent's neutral smash, but generally somewhat related to whoever you copied it from. Oh, and colours wouldn't change, that could be confusing if 2 Mega Men copied the same power

One problem with it is the uselessness during the campaign (assuming there will be one), but then again, Kirby's copy is useless too
