I took the server down a while ago. I would put it back up for you to take a look around, but I haven't got my VPN set up yet so I'm unable to.
[Currently at school killing time before an internship]

If you have time tomorrow, I guess I could put it back up for the day.

Hm, well i kind of meant the server the other guy was talking about, unless you're the one hosting it, though either way i'm just kind of looking if there's any actively used Cutstuff-related servers if anything really. Quite handy to kill time with though if there is any, as there isnt anything to do lately. :P

Also, basically everyone and their dog has Terraria by now, but has anyone ever tried hosting a server for Cutstuff users? Would seem quite interesting to have just like the occasional minecraft Cutstuff servers. Though one would have to be extra careful or simply accept the risk of their items being vulnerable in servers, possibily losing them due to griefers or server shutdown. (Which is an exellent reason to always store your important crap in offline worlds, or if it needs to be quick, a Piggy Bank/Safe.)

Would seem like good fun and all to have one ultimately (or two, one for normal, one for hard mode). If the community is to be trusted with a server, in any case.

...

Fun story.
I had one up ages ago for the 1.2 update.
We had tons of advancements.
Then TGOT and friends had to ruin it.
It was up for quite a while too. Too bad I never anticipated griefing to occur at all ever.
I don't think I'll be hosting another for a good long while.

[Also, I barely played, so I wasn't upset about the damage, but at the ghastly reactions from those who played a ton on the server.]
Very early-game Terraria (usually in single player) is really boring and grindy
all the early stuff has to be established and it takes while to get anywhere good without the good stuff

Very end-game Terraria also gets stale because you can become this powerhouse and then there's nothing left to do
and people who want to start a new character will be taken aback by the ghost that destroys them in two hits, among other things

so why not end everything with a bang
Sure, it was an unjustified attack on the Native S'kyper Cutopians and I wouldn't consider doing this on other servers
but when there's nothing to do with all this stuff
what else can you really do with all your cash
besides giving the world an explosive finale

Terraria is pretty enjoyable near the end of normal mode/middle of hard mode, but it's just not worth it after a while

Anyways, Terraria mods like Toparia can add some extra fun to the game (Toparia is this RPG-type mod where you can choose classes that specialize in weapon types, like melee, ranged, magic, and throwing), and things like Pickaxe+ can also add extra stuff to the game (important when 1.1 was around, since hardmode wasn't as big as a deal as 1.2's new stuff)
and I'm still waiting for some other mods to come out for 1.2 so I can maybe go back to Terraria

Of course, we allowed early game revives and I died twice. I ended up playing as Lynne. Seriously.

Which means I'm even more likely going to die.

We pretty much decided to forego no alts because of a cosmic change in plans and boulders.

The thing is TGOT
You pissed me off more than you pissed anyone else off
How do I know?
You see, there's this thing called
(click to show/hide)
Because that's right, I pretty much built everything on the right side, minus Nemu's house.
RIP countless hours of my life, the patience I had building it, and my sanity.

Agreed. Building takes time, and to demolish somebody else's things for "funzies," no reason, etc, is dumb.

Are you morphing this into an any-core, normal server? (Still having to start fresh, preferably.)

It'll still be hardcore, but it's just a matter of when people want it to be up/knowing when it's up.

I dont quite care for hardcore servers in general but i suppose you remember that from the Minecraft times as well. Having a normal server at some point would probably be interesting though.

Also, Terraria got a halloween update and with the use of pumpkins one can make a summon item for an invasion that puts Dungeons and Solar Eclipses combined to shame! It cant even be technically beaten, it just goes on until the night passes. Its quite fun to do with friends with endgame-level gear, though dieing is to be expected without proper setup/abuse of certain game mechanics, even in stuff like my shiney 95 defence tank set... :P

I may have missed that detail, but no, just no. I cant see myself being entertained by entering, dying, and losing all my grand stuff i collected if it works this way. Neither do i care for making a new character with the sole purpose of losing everything upon death. I guess it'll be a long wait for anything interesting to happen with this game's servers, atleast i can host my own at times fortunately...

Hm, besides that the game's too glitchy at times anyway for that, at one point joining a server got me killed from falling damage, but i had WINGS. God knows what kind of lethal event said server may host anyway (not to mention how in mid/hardcore you simply cannot do an Pumpkin Moon event).

We're looking to hold TERRARIA WORLD WAR 3 On Sunday Noon EST. It'll be Midcore, all out warfare that ends when one side calls uncle. If you're interested in joining, post here and I'll get around to posting the connect info.

New update soon!
Here's a sneak peak at some new content.

Quite a stylish and intricate way to move around the map, but not as convenient as teleporters.
May the mine cart madness begin!
