Computer dead... again
«

I seem to have the worst luck with the people I throw money at these days.
Short version:
Computer is dead, all my files are safe though.
Long version:
(click to show/hide)
After a few random BSOD's here and there over the span of a couple of weeks, all of a sudden the computer decided there was no OS to boot up. After a bit of looking around I noticed that the computer had failed to recognize my only SATA drive, the one that came with my machine. "Great", I thought, "Another dead hard drive". After a bit of tweaking with the wires, it started to work agan but the BSOD's came with it. I decided it was time to ditch the SATA drive and just bang another IDE in there.
So after installing windows 7 again, configuring mly computer and removing most of Windows 7's arbitary bullcrap, guess what. BSOD. Slightly concerned, I wondered if one of my other IDE drives were causing the problem (these two have my important stuff on). So to test this, I simply unplugged them both and just rand windows 7 on my spare drive. Again, the BSODs and boot errors came back.
Then I targeted the most common broken part of a computer. The RAM. I have enough dead RAM sticks to form a bouqette for if I ever find a nerdy girl I happen to fancy. I have a total of 4 2gig ramsticks so I put them in one by one to try and isolate the problem child. The VERY LAST ONE caused a BSOD almost immediately. I thought that would be it, and thus a minor purchase to replace the dead RAM stick would be in order. But no. The other RAM sticks also caused BSODs, it just took a while for my computer to decide to throw them at me.
The last thing I tried was the graphics card, which would be a same to lose because it's a beast. I stuck an old one in and guess what, same thing. So this has boiled down to either the processor or the damn motherboard itself. NOT the kind of things I want to be replacing (processor because it's fiddly, motherboard because it's a pain to find one that does the same jobs/has the same slots).
So I decided it was time to bust out the warrenty. I have never had to do this because of my techie know how, but apparentlly my skill is not enough! So I picked up the line and... dead line. I check the website and... "This website is under maintenence!". Annoyed I do a google search to find out that the company I got my computer from has completely gone broke and shut down. Many customers have orders waiting on them, hardware issues and so forth and they're all asking the same question: How/who the F do I contact about my machine??
The story isn't over (sadly) but for now I'm using the laptop. Until I get this thing fixed, replaced or just buy a new machine completely, I am going to be mostly inactve and NOT working on anything MM8BDM related. Period. Therefore, please do not be offended if I do not reply to questions about development, competitions, editing etc. A lot of PM's I get can be answered by others so, make a topic or poll in one of the forums and someone is bound back to you!
I will keep updates about my machine on my twitter, if you're interested.

Argh, it sucks when your computer crashes. Well, I certainly hope you can do something about it!

One day we'll all be using SSD's in PCI slots
Well, today if you have £200 to spare for not much space.
