Cutstuff Minecraft Server! FTB ULTIMATE! (Closed again)

I've been playing around with my VPS and it appears that hosting works, at least for FTB not sure about vanilla but probably. Any interest in this still?

I am happy to host a FTB modpack like ultimate or direwolf if there's any interest still.

Except that it's still not 1.5 yet

So I would totally expect Mike to start hosting the server and then a week later 1.5 updates come about

But it'd still be a nice change of pace from vanilla/offline with mods

Ok the server is now up using FTB Ultimate. I can't find any info on when 1.5 is coming out but I'll likely update it when it comes.

Select the FTB Ultimate mod pack in the client and connect to the server as normal (info on page 1 of this thread).

Ok so I tried connecting (with FTB Ultimate) and it doesn't show up at all

(Connection refused: connect)

Did it crash?

EDIT: apparently connecting to just server.cutstuff.net works

EDIT 2: also if you don't have a god-tier machine then it might take a while to load every single mod (At least a minute for me)

Ok everything seems to be in working order. I've added a forge mod which has allowed me to manipulate monster spawns depending on what biomes you're in. This allows me to have twilight forest mobs appear in the overworld, something I've wanted to do for a very long time. So next time you go hunting for some overworld materials, watch your backs!

Some examples of modified spawns:

Desert Biomes now contain blazes and other firey mobs!
Wasteland Biomes spawn creepers only. Be careful!
Giant forests spawn King spiders and skeleton druids.
Ocean Biomes caves can most hostile mob types. Going underground under an ocean biome is for the brave!

Is this mod like ForgeEssentials where clients won't need it to access the server?

(Also...I am sort of against the increasing of difficulty of mobs considering the server is already on hard mode...but that's just me.)

Nope it seems to be server side.

Most biomes don't have any mob changes other than wildlife so don't worry too much about difficulty. Just expect to see one or two extra mobs in different biomes you explore. Harder biomes include mountains, deserts, giant forests, wastelands and ocean caves. It still has to be dark for these new monsters to spawn (except for magma slimes).
