Just some examples of sprites that I've been doing for awhile, certainly more to come.

I'm trying to get myself to do some speed drawing for practice. I wasn't planning on coloring this but it just kinda happened

hey paisanos

how do y'all do your digital arty things because i'm just getting into that now after years of pencil
i've been using GIMP because i already had it installed
with a mouse only rip

but i'd be willing to switch to paint.net / paint tool sai / photoshop i don't even really know what's good or how to use brushes
GIMP makes stuff look fuzzy but maybe that's just me having no idea how to colour or use brushes

anything with layers
after that it comes down to personal preference, although some people i know use a combination of sai and photoshop.

I use GIMP; it's reliable as it supports transparency, layers, and customization for your brushes and pens (this means pressure sensitivity for the tablet users), but most people have a really hard time transitioning to it from PaintNet. It was the only thing I could use in 2014, so it grew on me.

I suck at anything outside of pixel stuff, so I use an old version of Paint, and Paint.NET when I need layers, transparency or soft shading.

^ Effectively what I do. Paint.NET gets the job done pretty well.

I use GIMP all the time, but yeah from the look of it it's a brush thing, there's several different types like the fuzzy one you used, and the solid ones, you can also change the size and opacity of the brush with the sliders on the left.

Another fun thing to bring up is you can find some interesting brushes on DeviantArt like a grunge brush, a fur brush, lightning, snowflakes, and even randomized sparkles
