Danzo's How-to-survive Guide
« on: February 02, 2010, 01:06:07 PM »
Now before you go ahead and read the rest of this loooong topic...please note that I am NOT stealing Lightningstutorial topic..therfore I will add Humans AND map statagies too :D

The rest is just a guideline that I myself have followed since the early beta's of GvH!

The Humans

Marine
Ok so you wanna be a Marine eh? Well it aint gonna be easy...heres some basics.
-Dont chase after anything bigger than you..really dont ._.
- When on low Hp and theres a ally nearby then stay close..team up with the Marine is a strong key to winning.
- When on low Hp avoid confronting Ghouls if you the only one alive..use your pistols and judge where they will come from
- Dont camp in tight areas as this will most certainly get you killed if you need to escape....being cornered fails.
- When last human dont be afraid to spam you shotgun or pistols..as the Mg will NOT save your life if your running and shooting..I know from experience.
-Try only use 2 nades a Ghoul and always save one..you never know when a Creeper will pop out and freeze you to the spot...

Hunter
-If your not the 'Search and destoy' type then camp and use your lightning powers.
- If cornered then dont be afraid to use your alt-fire attacks.
- If you are surrounded by plenty of Ghouls then give em a nice burn up the ass using the Flame alt-fire.
- If you hear a Creeper then dont be afraid to go after it.all good Creepers  fear hunters..whether the spam or camp.
- If you see an Sjas in the distance then the lightning arrows would most be suitable..should the Sjas get closer than use Ice or Flame.
-Creepers are all afraid of the Flame arrow..so use it!
- Jitters can only stretch so far when atacking so if you spot one or just escape then switch to to Flame or Ice and finish the sucker off.
- If faced witha Choke then feel free to spam your alt-fire for Ligntning.
- If all shards of ice hit a Jitter, it's insta-kill.
- Lightning arrows are best against larger classes, but if you sneak up on a camping creeper, lightning arrows are deadly.

Cyborg
- When faced with a horde of Ghouls then keep in flight motion and fire..now that you have two sets of ammo you can be twice as wreckless! :D
- If confronted with a Creeper then keep your diistance..they may look harmless from ajar..but when they have frozen you your either lunch or trapped in a Creepers grasp..even if you can float up.. D:
- When flying hold your 'Fly up' 'Jump' and tap repeatively 'Alt-fire'
- If low on ammo and have no fuel for Flight then hop around the map and look around for a safe place to refuel.
- Jitters are your worst fear so keep your distance..but remeber your their achielles heel too..so open fire at them!
- Cyborg is NOT a camping class..they are a particularly good Search and destroy though...

Ghoul/Ghostbuster
Now theres two sections for this dude..

The traps
- All Gb's can lay traps..the best ones can decide where they will be most effective for trapping some passaby Creeper..
- Traps can be used only ONCE so use 4 a room maxand try to cover a couple of metres radius..after all the Jitty can just charge through one.
- When on low Hp swich to your traps and use your last suppl...NEVER use all 10 at once..keep 2 or 3 for spares.
- Gb's can spam and drop their traps with a 1 sec delay..so if your in a Sjas chase and you are comming to a corner..dont let the Sjas overtake you..use this chance to plop one down and BAM..dead

The Plasmapack and upgrades
- When a Gb and you have set your traps out accordingly then feel free to switch to your PP and open up..just dont forget to switch to your traps when you are out of ammo...
- If you get an upgrade and are still on high ammo for your last weapon then spam as much as you can then when ou tof ammo upgrade to recieve instant full ammos! ( just dont do it if your in a cramped area O.O )
- The Gb can either be a backup class to help maintain an area clear forothers that need to recover or refill their stock OR you can be an offencive team after you have a long-distance upgrade ( Which I think is an Sjas or Creeper )
- If your aim isnt very accurate then stick to Trapping and shooting tactics if you can..I find this a LOT easier than chasing some Jitty around xD

The Ghouls

Sjas
Okai..so this is what I tend to do while faced with open maps.

-Try and keep low, Hunters and Marines are your worst nightmare in open situations as they can easily sniper you down from 2 rooms away ( providing they can aim lol )
- If faced with an exremely dangerous foe ( Mine was Frits long ago ) then dont panic, just try and dodge as much as you can while moving steadily towardsyour foe..then when they think it's time to move you just Dive in and facerape them!
- All good Sjas have a good dodging system i.e Swing up then dive to the left then swing up and dive to the right then go for the kill.
- Always have the Fly up button near your jumo button as a quick assent may just safe your life and make the winning kill.
- If faced with more than 5 potentially good killers then feel free to hide and camp above doorways and wait for you passing victim.
- Teaming up with Jitters while chasing a fast foe I.e a Hunter or a Cyborg can lead to trapping them and..you guessed it..a kill.

This is for tight/cramped areas and maps.
- If faced with a large amount of campers in one area of a map ( like Wagi caves ) then send in a Jitter or Choke to flush em out then go for the stragglers ( players on their own ) and pick em off on at a time.
- The Creeper is your best friend in a crowded situation as you can flank the enemy from behind ( by finding another way in ) and leaving the escapes to get stuck in the door by the Creepers as they are aiming at you.
- Choke tends to only be helpful to chase enemys that are chasing you when escaping from a 'Panic and Fly' situation.

Teh Creeper >:D
Ok so some of you know this is my best/favourite class so I will give away some..not all of my tips that lead to Creepers dominating the battlefield.

Offencive
- While in offence mode you tend to only pick off people who are holding up on their own as they are the easiest to kill, first pick a side form which you are going to attack from, then when they are still ( and HAVE NOT spotted you ) then strafle your way in and freeze..but dont go straight for the kill as it may be a trap...so always check your surroundings before killing.
- If you feel that you have a chance to kill a crowd of 2-3 then make sure that you pick of the least experienced foes, then hide and work your way for the next target.
- Strafling is an essential key to reaching your target before backup arrives, Strafling is Strafing but with a little more focus one one target, to Strafle basically hold Jump, aim and move sideways all at once.

Defencive
- If you are being chased, or you feel quite confident you can go for a quick nibble ( Kill :P) then Strafle but aim for your tracker and freeze him/her and if confident enough go for the kill..then scutter away with a kill.
- If your team is covering a heavily guarded area then don't try and intervene as this WILL result in death..instead try to pick off any retreating humans while your other team mates facerapes the campers!

Jitterskull =()
- Jitter tends to be the first ghoul tagged for killing in the arena, so if your not quite confindent that you can take the heat..then stay with another teammate who can lure the puny human into your line of munch and to become your next meal.
- Jitter doesnt have a good advantage in either open or closed spaces, so try and keep the dodging to a full if an encounter is tight or open.

More comming soon...

Thanks for looking, feel free to leave your thoughts on ANY tip :)
Oh and just for those that dont agree with my tips.. THIS IS A FRIGGING GUIDELINE that I FOLLOW!!!

To add to the Hunter:

?If all shards of ice hit a Jitter, it's insta-kill.
?Lightning arrows are best against larger classes, but if you sneak up on a camping creeper, lightning arrows are deadly.

you said so much bullshit here. I'll edit it for you.

Cyborg
- When faced with a horde of Ghouls fly up, then keep bunny hopping in mid air, you are the fastest class, faster than the choke, you are afraid of nothing (apart from sjas)
- If confronted with a Creeper then spam the shit out of them
- When flying ALWAYS strafe run, try sr50. Set up a fly-up button, jump doesn't work as well, also, tap the altfire as soon as you stop moving up so you save the most fuel.
- If low on ammo and have no fuel for Flight then keep running into blind spots and stock up on ammo, 5 shots a time.
- Jitters are your the least of your worries, spam the shit out of them, if they get close, fly over them and lol at them. Jitters can't do anything about flying cyborgs.
- Cyborg is NOT a camping class, they are a particularly good Search and destroy though as long as you know how to speed through the map with your jetpack

If you had bothered to read the first section you would notice it reads: The rest is just a guideline that I myself have followed since the early beta's of GvH!

SO if you wanna make add your own tips then fine..just dont quote saying what I do is bullshit..ok Pete?

I disagree with most of these guides. Don't forget each player has their own personal tactics and style of play, and builds of GVH keep coming out which can completely kill one strategy and create another. So don't argue about it, cause there'll never be a definitive GVH guide  :)

My cousin (Some of you may know him as Odin) always using Hunter + Lightning, and he never misses, so he's a real threat.

If he can't get best aim of that, he'll take a pick at Ice arrows and get as close as possible by eliminating the threat, whether he took the fraggin' himself or not, but he's DEFINITELY a tactician. He tells me "If your dead, boo-hoo, but if you can stop the enemy, then gj, mate!"

But what cutman said : Everybody has their own way of handling something.
