I know this sounds REEEEEALLY stupid, but don't you think Wood Man could easily have been named Leaf Man? Just think about it: both his attacks are all leaves, and the weapon you get has leaf in the name. It doesn't really matter, but it's been on my mind.

They don't need to be named after their weapon. They're named after what they are.

I see the misunderstanding. I'm not trying to say every boss should be associated with their weapons, I'm just saying that Woodman's weapon has the word leaf in it, along with leaf attacks. Even if the weapon was called Wood Shield, I'd still think his name should be changed to Leafman because it forms leaves around him. Crusher sounds like a cool name, though.

Also, Gutsman is not completely defined by "rocks." He is a construction worker.

"Guts Man" throws rocks. He could have been named Stone Man, but they decided against that. Four games later, we get Stone Man.

"Shadow Man" throws blades and shurikens everywhere. Wouldn't he be renamed Blade Man or Shuriken Man?

"Shade Man" is a vampire, not a shadow. He's not called "Dracula Man" or "Vampire Man."

No, Wood Man being made of wood doesn't mean he can't be Leaf Man. See the 6 fanmade Leaf Men.

But if they used Leaf instead of Wood, the fanbase will turn insane and feature more Wood Men than even Dragon Men because wood is such a common name. See Chill Men/Women.
