UPDATE: September 5th, 2011

I have to admit I still am a bit afraid of this project but as I said Stage 1 will begin shortly and depending on the results of that I will see the success of this project.

Right. Many of you are probably already thinking of what it is. And I hope you don't get disappointed.
Introducing Megaman Colosseum (temporary name), the first fan-made Trading Card game!

Now hear me out. My plan is simple: develop a card game with Megaman characters, locations, events and items, within all series! We will start with a deck of 70 cards, 10 by each series, plus 10 bonus cards. Soon I will show you all the rules I have written down so you can know how this will head to.
Let me give you a small taste of the project. As I said I want to do a card game representing the most possible number of stuff we love so much in Megaman games. However I had even more ideas. I want to make this game the first cross of card,board and RPG(?) games in one (I am still working with the rules in the RPG part). Something unique that can make the difference... yeah I'm like that. I want to make a difference in the Megaman fandom world. What can I say? I dream high.

Now let's begin.

Stage 1.1 - Introduction and recruitment


This is very simple. Spread the world. Probably some of you don't like card games but like Megaman, tell your card maniac friends about this. You have a list of people and different jobs we will need here.

The rules will be posted on deviantArt, in my account. After Stage 1 I will consider making a forum/website to store them there.

Stage 1.2 - Main plot

Why yes. This will have a plot, a story behind of why there are Megaman characters from different times and dimensions fighting against each other. My first suggestion is to make a completely different story. This Stage will not begin before I close Stage 1.1. In the meantime you will have my vision of story and don't forget you can submit your own to.

Interesting. I'd love to get some of my favorite Robot Masters (Gyro Man, Dive Man) in card form!

Are we allowed to make them?

I had an idea for a Mega Man card game once.

... Though it's been forever since I thought of something like that, and as such don't remember any of the rules. :p

@Star Dood: Yes, there will be a basic card format that I'm currently working with. I'm hoping that there won't be lack of artists since their names will be on the cards themselves.

@SmashBroPlusB: it's actually an Idea I have since last year and just now I felt like releasing it.

@Chimera Man: Not that one but I've played the nintendo DS version, i seem to remember it involved 5 or so colours called Force, and to activate or summon charecters you needed a certain amount of Force... I didn't liked it personally. And I'm hoping the system I'm making will be of everyone's leasure.

It's okay. If you want to participate on the project you have other applications for stuff to do.
Of course you may not want to, but if you want your ideas, opinions and suggestions for something I'm all ears.

To make the packs bigger, I suggest making enemy/midboss cards. It would be cool to me, IMO. I'd also like to see the Stardroids featured.

Unless this is probing stuff like Megaman X and Legends, too.

Is it only the Classic series?

Of course. it's called Megaman Colosseum but it won't be just classic series oh no.

And yes. I want to try to feature EVERYTHING that you see in megaman games. so we have more variety and people won't end up having their personal decks the same.

From small things like Metools, to huge bosses like Alpha.
From obscure characters like Plum, to popular characters like Craft.
From known, yet underrated stuff like... PicoPico? (XD)

Anyway, the sky is the limit. Don't forget It will also feature objects and places.

Objects will be used for Powering-up your character and/or giving them abilities.
Places will be used to control the layout of the field and place obstacles.

Oh... that makes me lose interest...

No offense, but I like the Classic series much more. The inclusion of the X series is nice, though.

I figured it out.

But you don't need to focus your interest in every series you know. If you check the job list I also need people focusing on one series. If you just want to help with Classic series then that's fine.

I just wanted to include all series so then I can have a wider amount of people interested, understand?
