No, Most games are free, but some Fan games you need to buy. Example being Koumajou Densetsu, a Cross of Castlevania and Touhou. There's 2 Games in that, But in the Main Touhou Series there are 19 Official Games.

What korby said. I'd have to say though, I think the fanbase isn't nearly as large as it used to be... I've been exploring the internet recently, and the only places I've seen touhou outside of Gensokyo.org and Shrinemaiden.com and here are Pink's forums and Deviantart. I mainly think that is so because touhou takes serious skills to pull off and become addicted to, otherwise it's just frustrating to play. Yes there are those that like touhou for other reasons, but it's like that with almost every fanbase

Also, that anime was entirely fanmade. Touhou has no official anime, but it occasionally gets super short anime style animations at near professional quality.

On a Side Note, I now own 8/19 of the Touhou Series.

I got POFV, but the music doesn't work . What a disappointment. I couldn't even get the netplay to work properly, which is the reason I got it.

I don't remember what got me hooked on touhou... most likely it was the awesome music and games and some of the fan animes on youtube
