T-t-triple post.
Touched up Dyna, mostly behind the scenes cause I SUCKED at texturing back when I made this, the coding for the patches looks so much more appropriate now and isn't named what the textures are. Got rid of the wacky diagonal parts of the hallway, removed Slash Claw all together, replaced Metal Blade with Water Balloon, and added a bit better transitions between Wood and Brick as you will see in one of the screenshots.
Also new conveyor belt textures from Nemz were added, so double bonus! Also the conveyor has been slowed down due to the new textures and thus is much easier to traverse going against it (it has a very slow carry now so barely effects movement).
Placeholder weapons have been rethought as well, as I originally intended for too many DOS weapons appearing in this map, Shadow Blade will NOT be replaced by Shark Boomerang, Fire Storm will still be replaced by Torch Arm, Hyper Bomb will still be replaced by Nuclear Detonator, and Water Balloon MIGHT be replaced by Water Shooter.
Hopefully these changes will keep the fast paced battles that made this map enjoyable, while making it both visually, and designed better.
So without further ado, here are the screen shots.

This will be the last of the original DOS quick touch ups as well. From here on the touch ups are going to be bigger, ranging from redesigning rooms (Sonic), sections of the map (Blade), and rebuilding the entire map from the ground up (Torch, yes this one is going to be remade from scratch, though the middle room is going to be the same, but hopefully better designed).

I've never been a huge advocate of the original DOS expansion, but I have to say, that map looks really good. It certainly helps that Dyna Man's are among the less visually-oppressive DOS textures, but they're used pretty darn well.

That looks really interesting. Does the counter mean anything, or is it static?

I've always wanted something along those lines, Megaman fangames get surprisingly few custom maps.

Presented without context.

And now to make this post less irrelevant, screenshot dump of things that I have and never posted.

I never really decided it was going to blow up everything around it at 0 and then reset making some stuff unavailable but it sounded ass so it's just an animated texture that does nothing

Ya I'd love to make a Rock Force expansion right the fuck now but the game is too dead for it to mean anything and most of my favourite mappers are gone

but it's still fun to make stuff sometimes

like Virus Man

maybe i'll do it if mm9 is some huge resurgence idk but im not betting on it

Once I've got my current plate (MM9, DOS) cleaned off I'd personally love to help out with something Rock Force related. Some of the fusion master tiles seem like particular fun to use.

I wouldn't mind trying out something for a Rock Force Expansion either, once DOS gets finished. Only problem is that I'll likely be in college by that time, heh. Maybe I'll skin for it or something over the summer... if the sprites were ripped already for the masters. Did anyone ever end up getting those?

Mapping-wise I'd probably try Circuit Man if I had the chance.

Honestly if people just want to skype me to say they're doing a Rock Force map I can probably get it going like unofficially prep-work wise and then bring it out after MM9 or if people get really interested

idk if I'd want to put Fusion RMs in it though - Rock Force has like, 20 maps
8 normal + 8 fusion + 1 Death Man + 3 Justice
8 + 3 is enough probably

picture barely different from last time (I blame WF 2x resource weekend) I just didn't want to post without any screens

expect shock in like 2 weeks because i'm tired
« Reply #6790 on: March 14, 2016, 09:54:05 PM »
ok we done

(click to show/hide)

Going to do shock next and then take a long break, i'm not really sure how to handle the electrified water though because you can't see the prongs about to shock it from underneath
either huge numbers, or a bar borrowed from Photon Man all over the underwater sections showing when it's about to zap

(click to show/hide)

Bars are easier to interpret really fast but numbers are more accurate and give exact time so idk whatever yo

I would go with both, just to be safe. You can use the bar as the "seconds" and the big number as the "minutes". Dividing those bars, you could make the number go down about every four of them that deplete.

On another note, I know nothing about this hack so it might be worth looking into later.

Actually, this isn't a hack. It's a fan-made game finished around... mid-2015, I think? It's a pretty neat game, and probably the overall best of the glut of fan-made Mega Man games that came out last year. Graphically, it leaves a bit to be desired, but the gameplay is pretty cool and there are a lot of neat features in it. Also it doesn't have any Unlimited bullshit, which is nice.

Here's the website for it if you want to take a look: http://megamanrockforce.com/rockforcemain.html

I would but it's likely going to be every 15 seconds not every 5 minutes, it's just a rapid jolt for a second that does damage and you'd have to make sure you were dry
so it's got to be seconds in numbers or a bar

So I went looking for some info on how the F_SKY1 texture works, and I accidentally found out about the CHANGESKY command.
