Yeah, it's probably not the only reason it's so broadly worded but it probably is a big reason.  Basically, I don't care if people support and hate the thing as I'm not a fan of it myself.  I just hate it when people paint it as a black and white issue.  With almost any issue, there's about 57 shades of gray inbetween and most often, it falls into one of those shades...except the Nazis, that was pretty black and white.

Regardless of why it happened, it's still entirely F'd up that ACTA was created in secret and that the full text is not publicly available.  Multiple freedom of information act requests have been made and all have been denied as 'pertaining to national security'... what a load of BS.  What possible legitamate reason would they have for keeping the law secret?

Rather than running around, screaming about the end of the world, educate yourself with what exactly ACTA is doing.

Not ALWAYS, but it's been a while.  Google bought them out in 2006.

Quote
"As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master."
