I remember I was afraid of joining this forum because I found that "keep it sane" rule too hard, mostly because I was used to make post just for reactions in another forum.
And my english was worse.

I was afraid of posting first because of the First Impression rule. That's probably why my first post was a terrible Cloudman sheet.

Too bad they dropped the "First Impression" rule. Now it's too difficult to sift through all the newest players for some intelligence.
To be fair, I would've appreciated staying in my "lurker" statis on this forum. If only didn't stop bugging me about it. I wanted to save my very first post here for something a little more grand because of the First Impression rule, unfortunately I was rushed because of it and I pulled a skin out of nowhere and started a long chain of senseless posts. This one also counting as useless. I wanted to just save my posting for just constructive/critisizing ideas only, but no. Now, instead of being a silent-toned, intelligent player, I've become an attention-seeking idiot to reflect upon the people who I have fought against. There's no other smart people I can recall to compensate for this, but they were smart enough to just plain leave the community for good.

Because of such, I've sometimes consider myself what I call a "mental doppelganger," someone who almost closly mimics the personality of another in hope to gain attention in the same matter as the other. Has it worked out for me? In a sense, yes. Would I continue doing so? No. Hell, the worst possible thing I ever did to get attention, despite the things I said about being against alernate aliases, was inventing Lament, which was only used to re-gain the respect that I had lost when I fell into a steep depression that I haven't seem to recover from. But if there is one thing I know about myself that back-hands me almost every single day, is my "grudge memory," a term I use for saying that I can't leave the past behind me. I can remember several things that happend to me in this community in which I was provoked in some way. I won't bother saying them to keep the wounds from opening.

I wanted to make myself feel better being in the community, so I had to get this off my chest. I had to come clean, despite it being somewhat personal information. Yet, no one would care how personal it was. All I can say after being in the community for more than a year, since v1c was released, is that it's slowly in the decline: The new is now the old and any other new things, save map packs, are more likely to die out quicker than an expansion or have some kind of unnessesary augmentation to it. I should know. So I want to get off my butt and so something to help the community, beside stop getting in the way and ruining everything. I can't do maps unless someone provides the map layout for it, any weapon I make will be told that it sucks more than being praised, and I've naught a clue as to what is even remotely able to skin. I'd really like to try testing stuff, bug-crunching and what-not, but I guess I've either 1) Never heard any discussion of it due to my "rank" in the community, or 2) Never bothered to ask because I didn't have the willpower to say anything, or I might just get told "no." I'd rather just let the community decide what actions I should take.

Getting this all out of the way, I feel very content about myself and feel that I've now helped the community become more familiar to how I act. It took me alot of courage to put this here, so I'll just leave the heart I poured out here and hope something happens. With this being the second-to-last post on the page, I'd somewhat doubt it.

What? No one dropped the FI Rule to my knowledge. (Someone was banned recently because of it.)

You might be over-thinking it. Can you remember anyone's first post? Really, when you think about it, everyone is the same way. Posts are just a form of regular communication, and the first is no different from the rest. (Or the last, even.) I wouldn't really consider it a bad thing, either. I also joined the forum just so to share some thought on ideas, but I branched out into basic discussions. I wouldn't consider that bad by any means: you're just becoming more integrated into the community. Assimilated, if you will. Automatic mimicry is human; all people imitate the behavior and mannerisms of people around them to some degree. It's only a social function. That's nothing to be ashamed of. I don't speak lightly, either. There have been people on this forum who have been incredibly attention-seeking at one point or another. For some people, having created any sort of wad, or even a non-existent "expansion" gives them room to brag and self-promote their own work at any chance they get. Some people engage in mundane activities such as server-hosting, bending for absolutely anyone and then act as if they're some kind of marvelous benefactor.

Are you an attention-seeker? Not in a long shot. It's kind of humorous coming from  you, because I'll admit: I HAVE seen you as the "silent, emotionless, stoic player" for some time, who only spoke words to a certain person who's no longer here. Of course, you're still only a person. Or two people, actually. Some might, but I don't. After some of the recent stunts from this community it comes off as pretty tame. If anything, you really did it for the opposite: To distance others from yourself. And it worked, probably.

Don't let the community decide what to do for you, though. THAT would make you an attention-seeker. And as of now, you're still far from it. If you're content with yourself, do what you want and be a part of the community you like, not the ones who tell you what to do.

That rule basically exists in case someone makes a terrible first impression.  Nobody has to do anything special other than start posting.

My school's internet filter wouldn't let me go to Dick Clark's wikipedia article because the URL has "dick" in it.
Also they had a prayer before an assembly relating to some sort of special olympics.
Silly conservative school.

Is it sad that I like permanent invincibility in video games? Not for cheapness, but for exploration purposes. I like playing around with glitches. :3

LamentAura, you're definitely doing nothing wrong to this community, and I think you've always been pretty fun to play with. It's not like you made a Skype chat for your new mode, then proceeded to try and shush anyone who wasn't talking about something you wanted to talk about, calling it "spam". It's not like you went and made a clan, claiming to be the best clan in all existence. It's not like you made a single weapon, and then constantly bragged about the fact that weapon doesn't need ACS. It's not like you spent 3 months on a map pack, then secretly bitched to yourself about the fact it wasn't getting a lot of hosts' attention.<--- Guess who I'm talking about with that one.
By the way, teachers are striking in my district and the entire district is closing down, starting tomorrow. WOO STRIKE. WOO MISSING OUT ON VITAL EDUCATION. WOO CRAPPY DISTRICT BOARD. WOOOOOOOO.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

So uh, I opened up Doomseeker a while ago and noticed a couple of "Protest" servers. Anyone know what's up with that? :?

Simply out of boredom, I ended up making weapon sprites for MegaGizmo. There are 8 of them, aside from the regular MegaBuster.

(click to show/hide)

I most likely won't use them, but I kinda like how some of them came out. I can already imagine how they'd be used in a 2D Megaman styled game.

Now I'm just wondering what robot masters he beat to get those weapons from?
